Kevin Wright went 44-2 during his five years as coach of the Ascenders

BRADENTON — The IMG Academy football team is looking for some leadership at the top.

Both the coach of the Ascenders National Team Kevin Wright and the director of football operations Jamie Speronis have moved on, according to a spokesperson for IMG Academy.

Wright has been the coach for the past five years. His teams went 44-2 over that span, including 9-1 this past season. During Wright’s first three seasons, the Ascenders went 9-0, 11-0 and 8-0. They have been ranked first in the state by MaxPreps and in the Top 10 nationally all five season..
