They are looking for an easy win combined with a trip to Disney. They can then go home and say, they beat a big, bad Florida team. If I were in charge of a program, we would not roll that way. If our team was going to travel, it would be to play quality competition, not some doormat!

Agreed. It seems like teams want to travel and just pick the first team with the same opening.
A team from California is paying over $50,000 to come to Disney and play an 0-10 team. What the fugg is that???

There are a couple good match-ups in there. Unfortunately, these are few. The majority of these games should have never been scheduled.

Someone else may know more than me, but I saw a Footballville video about 2019 defensive lineman Denzel Daxon (Miami commit) and it said Doral Academy next to his name. And then I did a little digging and found that Samuel Anaele (2020 defensive end, Miami commit) also went from Norland to Doral.

some monsters seem to be born that way..others are created.  It's not a matter of rationalizing these atrocities.  It is a matter of better understanding what factors create the killer.  Not too long ago, it used to be common practice to give people lobotomies.  Then we figured out that there were other ways to help people once thought of as helpless.

Take a pit bull puppy with a genetic predisposition toward hyperaggressive behavior, pull it from its mother very early, deny it basic needs (food/shelter/safety), make it live in isolation, systematically abuse it over years, encourage aggressive behavior, and what have you created...a killing machine.

"If you have a happy childhood, but killer genes, you might just stand a good chance of living a normal, adult life. If a potential killer has the wrong genetics and a terrible childhood, then it's a dangerous time bomb waiting to happen.  In the Anatomy of Violence, criminologist Adrian Raine believes there are both biological and environmental traits that can turn a child into a cold-blooded killer. Some of the potential traits of a killer includes: being male, a low resting heart rate, brain damage, and a mother who smoked and drank throughout pregnancy, children who are separated from parents before the age of three, or if their parents don't engage with them at a young age. FBI Profiler Jim Clemente explained, Genetics loads the gun, their personality and psychology aim it, and their experiences pull the trigger.  Researching some of the most notorious serial killers ever known, they all show distinct patterns of childhood abuse and early trauma."

I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but the athletic director and coach/security guard that gave their lives to save kids are true heroes. The next day, I was in a group text with my coaching buddies and we all just wondered what we'd do in a similar situation. Now teachers feel like they need to keep classrooms locked at all times. Such a sad situation.

Without getting into any personal details, I can tell tell you that I am close to individuals, friends and family members that have attended, currently attend and would/(would have) potentially be attending Stoneman Douglas High School.  I am somewhat content with facts coming out and evolving with this case, but there are still a few key factors that I hope will be revealed in the coming days. I can say that some of this may have to do to with age and privacy.  There is another key matter in this case that I hope will soon be revealed that theoretically may blow some of your minds, and for some it will really make you think about governing powers....

In today's society, a unarmed security guard is helpless trying to protect thousands unarmed civilians in a confined area.  Unfortunately, most mass shootings are in confined areas with lots of unarmed  people that the shooter is very well familiar with.  The odds are unfortunately in the shooters favor.
When I pass by Stoneman Douglas , I usually see two police cars which I assume are there for the resource officers.  I have know idea whether or not the officers were present.....Keep in mind Stoneman Douglas, has about 3300 students and is a fairly large campus and land area.
I'll call you Zoe Boy to fill you in on some stuff.

We are discussing transferring and how to stop it right? If a kid is at a program and he don't want to be there as a coach will you want that "cancer" spreading through your team or let that player move on and you continue to build your program? We are talking about a rule that honestly will not be around to much longer at the college level which restricts players from playing immediately if they transfer laterally...so if they are arguing to eliminate the rule at the college level it's no way they will be able to pass a rule that is similar in language at the high school level. Their is no way to make a parent/kid stay at a high school that doesn't want to be there by taking away whatever eligibility unless you are willing to do that 1st for every kid regardless of the activity but if you are specifically looking at Football and Basketball you are going up a slippery slope. Parents start the movement years before their child gets to high school, their are kids that play pop warner in 4 or 5 different parks between elementary and middle school, so more times than not those same kids move high schools 2,3, and sometime 4 times are we going to start lobbying for a rule that eliminates park movements lol...

What is interesting is Deerfield Beach, Ely, Miramar, Dillard in 2017 all probably had a lot more inbound transfers then STA yet no one cares about transfers when teams don't dominate.  Not sure if it is the principle of radical transferring in general that bothers people, or finding a excuse to slow down dynasties?
No one cares about teams like Deerfeld Beach, Jones and Atlantic who probably had a combined 70+ talented transfers last year.....  No one cares....Just saying.

So it had nothing to do with football whatsoever.  It never crossed anyone's mind supporting or opposing it?
I'm not knocking any kids for bettering improving opportunities in academics or a better chance at getting college tuition paid for .  Never will.
But you are 100% correct all kids that attend "Magnet  Schools" is strictly for education, not sports!

I have been on the forums for 12 years, and there was a much larger voice about why this bill opens up Free Agency for sports. And the reason why nobody knocks a kid for going to the Magnet School is because of the purpose of schools is education, not sports! Again, the state legislature butting in where they don't need to be.

Please understand the Free Agency Bill was not about enhancing opportunities for students, it was about trying to destroy public education as a whole. It plays into the Republican narrative of "school choice" which then becomes the expansion of the voucher system! It isn't about students, it is about making that money for the businesses!

Say one is a Junior at public high school,  solid 2nd team all county player but no offers yet.  If I am that player, or parent knowing that if I enroll  at St. Thomas Aquinas or AHP , become a rostered player, and  know it will open up doors for me academically and athletically, would I be wrong to pursue that opportunity?

The other option is to stay at Monarch, Coral Glades, South Broward and keep my fingers crossed....  Maybe, I'll get noticed or someone will notice my public school education....But hey, I will satisfy other people that I did the "right" thing ethically and did not strengthen the empire and will keep all of the STA haters happy by staying at Monarch because I know they will be there for me in my future ....
Who cares about my future, it's all about satisfying others and staying at Monarch

Does anybody see my perspective for the individual?
Does anyone really think these kids,  their parents care about our personal perspective when these opportunities arise for their kids?
    Put yourself in their shoes.

I never said "recruit"   .     It is possible that kids also go to private schools for a better education and opportunity though, right?
Some kids also go to public schools  have "magnet " program opportunities .  I'll never knock a kid that wants to expand opportunity academically or athletically.  I'll never knock a program that provides those opportunities for kids.
Post high school educational opportunities that may have not been available if kids were forced to stay at the schools that "we" deem fit for them.  Who are we to tell a kid what he/she can and can't do to open up doors academically and athletically?
Has it gotten to the point that because some are so sick of football dominance that we want to lock our youth down and limit their futures for our own satisfactions with High School football?

How about we just separate the state for Division 1 and Division 2 football and play with the big boys.  Those with baulz step forward.
