The point is, it goes both ways, not really a public vs private issue.  
Back in 2013 I got into a conversation with Mr. Highschool Steve Berry about AHP.  He wrote an article about AHP, having over 20+ Division 1 prospects. They also had a roster size nearly double that of any of the other 5a school.  The top 5 public schools in class 5a all had roster sizes of about 40-50 players with 4-6 division 1 prospects.  Go figure that.  

A year or more ago, I offered the solution to this unbridled movement. Team success means your teams moves up in classification (with some caveats for 1A Rural and 2A). One of the reasons for that was to allow a team that amasses a super team to continue to move up and play in a more competitive classification. As was suggested above, with unbridled movement, classifications will no longer be a balancing act. 

I've never had a problem with school choice for academic reasons, but sports is totally different.  In my opinion, it compromises the whole reason we have classification in the first place.  When a 4a or 5a school can "attract"  twice the number of players of any other school in their class, they should be moved up, but the rules don't do that.  The original intent was to allow kids that are either home schooled or attend a small private or charter school  that doesn't offer a certain sport a chance to play at a school which does.

This is breaking...just looked at the schedule and I am shocked. Avon Park would have gotten bonus points as would Sebring so I am a little shocked by it.

im not fully sure yet on what i plan to do but i do plan to be around the team in some capacity next year because even graduated i still have unfinished business as when i orginally signed up before my sophmore year i was motivated to help because i wanted to go to states
 
i remember being in the stands as a kid but i remember my freshman year with us in second round of the playoffs we were playing bartram trail and were nearly 30 point favorites
 
i watched the second half from standing next to the tunnel because i couldnt handle watching from the stands after the first half and was desperate for us to get through the game and i tried everything to get the crowd to get into the game during the second half and i felt helpless because it wasent working, i realized right then i was not doing our team any ounce of good as a fan so i wanted to find a way to get with the team in some capacity but wasent sure how, like in january i went to a fundraiser at a nearby grocery store that our team was with people of the community and helped bag groceries and i ended up meeting the head coach of the team, but funny thing was i didnt realize who he was until later, and i didnt realize i had ran into him before at school (because i never was introduced to him) so eventually i got to talking and soon i asked to join up and then boom i was working with the team and have for past 3 years, been through a lot of wins, (and losses which im not used to much ) i just hope that moving foward they can finish the job of bringing a championship back to lake city and with the talent on this team and the effort these coaches put in i know sooner or later it will happen, it dont matter who we will have to go through to get it, it will happen, question is when 
 
but i will be there when it does happen and ill probably will be the first person jumping onto the field lol

I see.  I thought you might work for a media outlet or something.  I started a project a few years back to document Hardee's records all the way back to 1909. Never finished as it became next to impossible to find records pre-1930.  I looked at microfilm rolls, yearbooks, etc.  I got our win-loss record for each year back to 1929 but can't document every game.  Learned some interesting things though.  

1988 Suwannee team did go 12-1 . They lost to Tallahassee Leon 18-15 in game 6

It's too bad alot of the early stuff (80's, 90's) got lost during cable company mergers, or is sitting on a shelf somewhere. I have about 60 games on my media server from '84 - '16, The early stuff is just really hard to find. I've thought about trying to see if I can digitize what the school still has. I know they threw out a bunch of old film a few years ago that had gone bad, i believe.

Lol I'm a dentist.  Had a bunch of down time in between patients plus a cancelation haha.    Was actually looking for the players on the old Pine Forrest teams of 1988/89 as there was an argument on another forum about how good Panhandle football is.   Was a completely random find.  

The seeds of this started several years ago when Lakeland fans hired an attorney and got Florida legislators involved in Tallahassee. Anytime politicians are involved follow the money. I concur with 954gator, let the games begin....welcome to the new wild,wild west.

An old 1990 Suwannee Program guide.   Thought it was a cool piece of history.   Most stuff from back then seemed to never make it on the web.   Pretty impressive random 4peat of state titles, and the only they've ever won.   How good were they?  Did they beat strong bigger class teams or were they just dominant in their class?

I was in 9th grade in 1988 when we played them in the state title game.  Matt Fryer was on that team and had set a state record for most yards receiving.  The game was close for a half.  I remember that before the game hearing rumors about stuff that Live Oak was doing and getting away with.  It believe it was 1990, after their 4th championship that the school had to forfeit 4 games and coach Pittman resigned in disgrace, although they were allowed to keep their state title. I know they use to play Lakeland back then too.   

I have seen MCC in person and watched film on pretty much every playoff team in the state - including Immokalee and Newberry.
 
I would appreciate other opinions though anyone that has seen any of these teams play in person or watched film on any of them.
 
I have not seen Trenton or Madison play in person either but I'll go out on a limb and say they'll blast Hardee and Immokalee as well.

Forget 3A Privates....Let's start with 1A Publics....
 
Give Immokalee the Pahokee playoff schedule and see how far they get versus what they faced in their 5A schedule!

As for 3A...A team like Melbourne Central Catholic would likely blow the doors off Immokalee IMO....- but that is speculation.

Agree.  Quality performance and I think AHP underestimated the Sharks....If Ponte Vedra had a little more Defense they would be scary good...  5A has had great parity of late. 5A top five could all play with one another pretty tight this year and last....  I know all of the National and maybe some FL HS Football followers make claim of AHP being a nationally elite team but down here in SFL we know they are not on the same level of an STA. When I see people ranking AHP ahead of STA on the national board it is just nonsense....  AHP is much closer to many of the top SFL Publics than STA generally speaking.
