With regards to depth, player rotation, etc.. questioned by Nolebull, regardless of who OHS plays they rotate a lot of players for continuity reasons from year to year as well as insurance vs the injury bug . They did this last week vs TC whether RB, DL, LB and DB plus they rotated both QB's equally. So a fan like myself who has sat in those stands for over 50 years has seen that firsthand.  John Walker first landed under my radar as an incomng freshmen rotating at DT for a senior as an example and we knew then he would be a stud as is the case with other underclassmen I have mentioned filling roles as sophomores on this years team.   So Nolebull's assessment may be true for other teams in this regard, but not the case with the Kowboys.  Regarding transfers as stated by Coach Beek everyone gets them and most of the one's we initially were getting tended to be "Legacy" players who's dad, mom, uncle, etc.. went to OHS and played for them.  They would come in as freshmen and grow with our program as opposed to stealing/recruiting someone else's top player and getting. them as an incoming senior.  Secondly, our youth league for decades had 2 teams in Kissimmee both mostly run/coached by former alums who put in the effort to have solid feeder programs.  One team generally had players go to OHS while the other fed Gateway HS, at one time the only two public HS.  Due to who was doing the heavy lifting in these youth leagues a couple of years back those two teams migrated into one excellent team known as the Osceola Kowboys (8u, 10u, 12u and 14u).  Any kid from the area was welcome and hence we would get incoming freshmen zoned for possibly Gateway, Poinciana, Liberty, etc... Hardly any from the St. Cloud area as they have their own youth league programs which tend to feed St. Cloud HS and Harmony HS.  Lastly, the kids that went to Poinciana last season as well as this season were "ALL" backups on our squad but excellent players nonetheless as yes they had seen plenty of action at the varsity level for us.  Akeem Knox for example would probably start as a RB for 80%+ teams throughout our state and I suppose you can ask Coach Beek his opinion on this assessment.  He unfortunately was competing with another RB that is ranked in the top 10 in the entire state, thus his role.  To close, my observation is you have lots of folks that know alot about teams around the state but when speaking specifically about my Kowboys not so much.  My take.

Seems like more than a few kids left Osceola and went to Poinciana. Including a few DB's that AllOsceolaCountyFB is claiming to be the best in the county. Looks like to me Osceola Trains them and Poinciana plays'em.

on what basis do you have to state any 1 team is better than the other?
    thats called opnion.
osceola is the class of the county and have been and will continue to be, until someone dethrones them.
toho is on the up and up with an explosive offense and a coach who knows how to score points.
harmony always has a rough and rugged team, but look like they are on a downturn
st cloud is up and down every 2 or 3 seasons, doesnt help that the district lines seem to change yearly for them and gateway
gateway, celebration, liberty all yearly the bottom of the county, taking turns with poinciana.
who has had 1 good year(with a 900+ ranking in SOS) in 20+ years and they are instantly #2 in the county,
    becaus you say so?
what merit do you have to say that?  you watched a 7 on 7?  so they have the best dbs based of 7 on 7.
right.......I remember a post on twitter saying they got blown out a couple times at one of the 7 on 7s....
    so......

rumor on the streets, as there was a board meeting for fhsaa the last few days,
several countys are putting together ideas that would become "nightmare scenario" (the exact phrase I was told)---
school a is always good at basketball, but other county schools are just ok and some are terrible, push all those ok kids to school a and do away with basketball at all the other schools.
school b in same county is really good at football, but terrible at basketball.  other schools are ok to good, push all the good kids to school b and do away with football at rest of schools.
    etc.
    have powerhouse sport specific schools.
the district, regional, state series would become a complete waste of time as some school districts may only have a school or 2 that are playing specific sports....
nightmare indeed, if it becomes rampant across the state....
already underpaid teachers and coaches in the best sport state in the country, florida sports will become a complete joke if any of these ideas come to fruition.
add in that ole Ron is making school start at 830 across the state in 3 years, now getting involved with athletics,  smh

they ran a little more spread type stuff 2012ish 2013ish when zack was there, it was for sure a dangerous combo  to see 2x2 and then all a sudden they shift into single wing or vice versa.  i couldnt imagine game planning for the same personnell groupings for a spread em out offense and a smash mouth one.

Any old timer remember the "Newbie" who had the "inside scoop" on a certain Blue/Black team all the while he didn't realize he was conversing with that teams Head Coach ?  Inside jokes "be damned" but it was hilarious.

The biggest issue with pay for coaches is that there will always be people who want to be a head coach in Florida. As long as 60+ applicants apply to these vacancies whenever they open, there’s no incentive for the districts to pay more because of the same “next man up” philosophy coaches preach. Everybody who is a head coach wants more money. But, there’s a much larger number of people itching to sit in the big chair regardless of the supplement. When you look at neighboring states though, it’s laughable that Florida values athletics so little considering the wealth of talent.

I actually think where the FHSAA has a conflict re-enacting this rule is how it applies to privates vs publics.  Privates business model requires them to attract transfers but it is mostly for academics and that is difficult to argue against.  That isn't the case with publics thus they have difficult choices as the open transfer rules gives those privates that want to also be superior in sports a leg up.  Thus the dominance exhibited by the Bolles School, STA and others beginning in the early 2000's with that huge recruitment advantage.  People want to equate their success to coaching, facility, etc  and although important it boils down to the Jimmies and the Joes.  During the ensuing decade the privates continued to become even more dominant and caused some publics to resort to whatever means necessary to keep up.  To me publics and privates should continue to schedule each other if they wish but privates should have their own state champs (playoffs) and publics the same with the 1 year sit rule in place for publics.   Again, lots of the forum members have good ideas but implementation of those seems highly unlikely so then each school needs to figure out what is important to them and execute a long-term strategy to achieve that.  Continued complaining gets you nowhere.
