Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from gatorman-uf in Get rid of districts
The FHSAA should never went to 8 and now 9 divisions. It was fine with 6 divisions and yes the same teams won most of the titles juist like today and nobody whined because you had to be great to win a state title. The districts were not 2-3 teams and their were a few wild cards to make playoffs if you were in a stacked district. The FHSAA just caters to a few people from Lakeland whose state legislature blew up any real competition by pushing for total open enrollment so her team would be good again when they could recruit. led to super recruit teams which gave us this crazy suburb plan that creates two levels in football. The elite Metro and the lower minor leagues except for the 2-3 teams that will win all those titles now and lead to same state champs in all 9 divisions. same problem they are whining about now.

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from SubZero in Get rid of districts
Its not districts that are the problem. It that we have too many divisions. Scrap dumb suburb/ matro plan and go back to 6 divisions like the nold days and bring back wild cards for crazy stacked districts and problem solved. But then crappy teams wont get to claim fake state titles then i guess.

I will say it again. Many coaches and ADS showed proof that the metro teams win 89% of the title so they wanted to separate from basically the Miami Dade and Broward privates. They admitted they cant compete with the metro but then say that the suburban divisions are not second rate joke championships. They are the B kiddie pool divisions and the metro is big boy football. Venice does not apply because they knew that the suburban will be a fake championship and tried to go to real state titles.

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from Dan in Daytona in Jon Santucci crying in print about his team not having chance to win a fake (suburban) state championship
Nole, you are exactly right. the funny part is it will really only help really great teams who get to the semis and quarterfinals already but just cant win state. They will win the fake state suburban title but screw many more schools who will be forced to cram 8 division into 4 in the metro areas. This junk idea ignores the real issue in the state which is recruiting. How about this. Create a 9th division of any team that gets over 4 transfers in a year and privates schools and that will let the cheaters and recruiters beat each other up instead of on the rest of the state schools who don't cheat. Problem solved. The state legislature might be taking over the whole thing in a year or two anyway and that will create a true chaos of each state rep trying to help their schools. fun times ahead. .

We all know that the privates and Miami/Broward schools are real issue so put the cheaters in one division and let the rest of the state play ball.

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from gatorman-uf in Coach Pay
Your right Ray but the new teacher pay is the same as a 10 year veteran right now after last years pay raise bill. It made starting pay alot better for new teachers but had no money for vets.
-
Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from Nulli Secundus in Coach Pay
Another issue with the increase in pay for coaches is if you raised the Head football coach and assistant by say 4000 a year each. Every other sport at the school would want the same pay and no way the school board want to deal with that cost.

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from Supernatural in New Football District & Assignments released
So now we have many three team districts which favors those schools tremendously. They only have to win two game to win district. Then they have a better chance at playoffs because they don’t have guaranteed losses by teams that don’t have to play each other. Dumb system that marginalizes half the state programs

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from Supernatural in New Football District & Assignments released
All the FHSAA has to do now is change label from metro to gold division and suburban to bronze division and bam. …… we have a volleyball travel team tournament t where the bronze is a pathetic attempt to make second rate teams feel good about themselves by giving them a fake state champ ring.

This is not that hard to understand.
Fact 1- I know there are awesome amazing teams in Suburban. Some win state now like Venice and Madison. Osceola and Lakeland can play with anyone in the state or country not named IMG. In fact, these state powers will dominate the suburban championships year after year leading to the same suburb and metro champs every year.
Fact 2- The main people who pushed for the metro suburban split said that the suburban schools ( not the ones listed above but the others cannot compete with Metro area because of ease of recruiting and the super privates in the cities. They used the 88% of state titles won by metro areas as the evidence that they cannot compete with metro and should be granted the split. This proves that the Metro divisions and side of the state football championship are the A team and the suburban is the B level. Even though some of their state champs could be a metro team, the suburb divisions are the minor leagues .
Fact 3- No one who created this plan cared about any school in metro areas at all and did not even address the affect on the non super powers in those counties .
these are all facts and I dont know why the suburb school people are so upset on here. You teams did not get screwed like the metro ones and you got your own little B league titles. It will be alot easier for you win you Bronze division title like club volleyball tournaments. The metro divisions are the Gold division ones.

Hi Perspective,
They picked winners and losers. The suburban people created this garbage plan and then tweeked it to benefit certain counties . The plan did not care the effects on metro teams and counties that have very little recruiting or schools that do not recruit. The same teams will win state in suburban and metro just like always. I am sure that no school in the very populous county of Polk huh. Hitn ...the school that was busted for recruiting a few times and their nickname rhymes with said foughts.

They had two members from Lee county. The second one voted for it. Deciding vote. No one has told us why they changed it from last years plan at all. It does not affect my school but Seminole county got bussed. I am sure the creators wanted no part of Seminole HS in 4A suburb. Lee county schools are bad at football so lets go with Population density. Real nice. I get why the suburb wanted out and don't blame them. They just did not worry about how 85% of the metro schools will get crushed by new plan and did not care. Next change will be move teams up and down within metro and suburbs with a success and playoff multiplier. Move the super teams up divisions and down who don't have success and they can salvage this dumpster fire move.. But that takes common sense which the FHSAA board has none.

Someone in suburban saw that lee county sucks at football and Seminole county had the 8a states champs and switched the two counties even though no one from Orange County drive 40 minutes to transfer to seminole. Joke plan

Truth hurts Columbia. Please explain how Seminole got placed in Metro when they were in suburb with original idea. Maybe so Lee county could escape and get its 2 members to vote for separating Florida in A and C track football divisions. While you are adding fake titles...why dont you just Create 286 classifications so all of you can be fake state champs. Participation trophies for all country bumkin teams.

I am done about my school. Did anyone see how screwed 2a schools are in metro. School class range of 600-1600 and packed with some amazing teams like billed and central. I bet teams flock for independence there. That idea seems fair. Did anyone even mention how metro teams in 2a getting crushed

Predictions for state champs for next year and all the years after as long as they keep this dumb idea going.
Metro- !a Chaminade Suburb- 1 Madison
2A- Central 1b- Victory Christian
3a- Northwestern/STA/ Edgewater 2A - Cocoa
4a- Apopka and Columbus 3A- Mainland or Naples
4a- Venice/Osceola/ Lakeland
Maybe we can make the state title trophies out of gold for Metro and Hayseed for the second class state group Suburb.

Plus my school not only will play teams that cheat but they also have double my schools population as well. Sounds fair.
