Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from JaxFootballGuy in Jon Santucci crying in print about his team not having chance to win a fake (suburban) state championship
Hey Kowboy fan , you keep saying build up your program and they will come which means get pretty good so the recruits will come to your school which I am fine with. I don’t want anything to change unless it actually solves the recruiting and competitive balance. My Issue is how can my school build up when the metro plan puts 8 classes into 4 and makes district games a demolition derby for my team playing other teams that do actually recruit and cheat.

It’s not hard to move to 15 per cent of each class up and lowest 15 per cent down after each year with ratings.
I feel like people are not understanding my point. The same 12 schools will always win suburban so who is really benefiting from this whole change. Those schools just make semi finals now. 90 per cent of all schools have zero chance of a state. Championship so why screw them over so a semi finalist can win state. Who cares about those poor semi finalist when most schools will be hurt by this. Check out poor George Jenkins proposed district. That will happen in both metro and suburban squeezing three division into one.

Everyone knows Osceola gets transfers from the entire county and have a awesome program. You should be playing the St Thomas, Apopka, Miami Centrals, Northwestern, Venice, Chaminades of the world. Not every program cheats but most of the great ones do. They cherry pick players from the whole county and say its continuity that makes you great please. How many of your players should be at Poinciana or Harmony or Lake t, or Celebration. What a joke.

Jon’s team is treasure coast and he is dreaming if he thinks he will beat Venice or Osceola. He and the suburban are just looking out for about 10 teams who have a chance to win a title while sacrificing many schools who will now be playing one or two division up with schools who have twice their size in population. Love how he said some schools have a area of two million to choose from. Give me a break. There is over forty schools in the cities that size and only about three or four who actually recruit and get super teams what about the other thirty five.

The elite teams will all end up together. Many states are doing it now. Some multiply number of transfers and success to higher classifications. Fhsaa will never put privates in own divisions which would help.

Boo hoo. Guess Jon might have to wait two more years to win his first fake Suburb championship. loser. The metro plan was soundly defeated by Administrators committee which he forgets to mention and a 8-7 vote by AD's ids not some overwhelming consensus. Maybe he and the other suburb supporters should just drop out of FHSAA and form own title like miami teams did for a year.

If the plan was so great why was the AD vote 8-7. Hardly a ringing endorsement. The plan is was obviously created by suburbs people without any regard to metro schools. Good luck getting it passed with out a endorsement by the executive director. Let me give you a preview of what the meeting will be. A bunch of suburb coaches and ADs whine on zoom and then the proposal fails. Haha

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from KeemD321 in Venice apparently set for an IMG rematch in Week 1
Naples needed to improve their schedule if they want to be ready for their annual game with Northwestern or Miami Central in the playoffs. The other SW Florida teams are too weak to get them ready. Scheduling Venice is a good start. Maybe add a Miami team on the road to get ready for possible travel and talent upgrade from weak district.

The suburb idea is just a way to give a few suburb schools who are really great but cant get past a metro private juggernaut a state championship. Does nothing to enhance competitive balance at all. This affects maybe 10 schools and sacrifices alot more metro schools who don't get transfers to the wolves. Will lead to mass defection of teams out of FHSAA in football. All just so a couple of suburb schools can act like a real state champ. Pathetic.

Teams will leave the FHSAA in droves for Football in both metro and suburban because the haves will be more concentrated into same districts making it nearly impossible for have nots to get through that tough a schedule . The George Jenkins example listed above proves that. It seems like other better alternatives are being ignored for this joke plan because it has been around for a whole 2 years. pathetic.

No i do not think that privates are the only one to recruit. They just win most of the state championships. The public schools in major area recruit like crazy and usually one school becomes the it school and they all flock there. Sort of like Miami Central, Jax Lee, Naples , Lakeland. Dr. Phillips. That why the football factory schools should be moved into same class according to win percentage and playoff results. If you do that, then no reason to separate private schools. Have all football factories playing each other. Place other schools in the rest of the divisions by wins as well and move teams up and down every two years. Sort of like international soccer leagues do it..

Sorry add Chaminade to whatever division they are in. Just trying to show point that the whole idea is to create parity but will still have same state champs every year in same division but you will get more blowouts in districts because you are putting teams in same district who have vastly different enrollments. Not even adding fact of the recruiting teams advantages.

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from KeemD321 in Metro vs Non Metro
After looking at each possible division. Here is a simple breakdown of who the state champs will be every year.
Metro 1 Jax Trinity or Champagnat Suburban- Madison
2 Miami central or Cardinal gibbons Victory Christian or John Carrol
3 St. Thomas Aquinas or Northwestern Cocoa every year- no competition at all and might win by 100
4 Apopka versus Columbus yearly Mainland , St, Augustine , or Naples
Venice / Osceola classic yearly
Please explain how this will lead to great Parity. There will be less. I would bet these team listed above win 95% of the next 2 year state championships. Heck, don't even bother playing the season. Just play the state championships week 1 and let all other contests be scrimmages like the spring games. The private schools will win 4 to 5 state championship a year. Easy solution is to place privates in own division and move teams up and down divisions based on success or failure. Too hard for the FHSAA to figure out.

What does this proposal due to stop recruiting? Nothing, there are some teams in suburban divisions who recruit big time and are dominant in their districts and regions. They will destroy the competition in most of the divisions and have huge blowouts just like now. Then what about metro schools who don’t recruit. This idea makes them lambs for slaughter as they will never win any district games and get a running clock in most of the games. This idea does not solve any problem but will create all new ones.

Floridaatlantic1 got a reaction from KeemD321 in Metro vs Non Metro
Two issues with this dumb idea. You will get the same five teams winning the suburban divisions and the metro. Just look at some possible breakdowns and same teams will win so you are not solving the problem. The best teams need to move up and bad teams move down to create super divisions at top is only way for true balance. Also. Now you are squeezing all the metro teams into four divisions and suburban into five so now you have huge enrollment differences between teams so the gap will be even worse in the for many teams who will have no chance to compete. Some teams will have almost double the enrollment of other teams. Blow this idea up and research real way to make the game better .

One last point. The metro suburban plan does not address the private school dominance issue at all. They will continue to win most of the state championships.
