Joshua Wilson got a reaction from DarterBlue2 in Central, Northwestern opting in... Columbus, Booker T. opting out
So what happen in a nutshell is this:
Private and Charter schools are left in to choose on their own pretty much with exceptions I mention in a moment.
All three counties have a county AD/conference of schools that usually coordinate things together, etc.
Palm Beach made the move first and opted all their schools out.
Broward with the BCAA went the same route except their two private schools that are members which is Cardinal Gibbons and Aquinas which they are opting in.
Miami-Dade with the GMAC (which includes Columbus as the only private school member, no charters are members), they left the decision in the hands of each school. What it came down to is that Columbus and Booker T. wanted more guaranteed games. Its crazy to say that given that the FHSAA is allowing teams to play regular season games through December 19, especially if a team gets knocked out of the playoffs.
    Hopefully that helps some.

Well hat tip my colleague Adam Lichtenstein at the Sun-Sentinel for getting the scoop on what Miami-Dade is doing. Most of their schools are opting out. Only five schools are in including only two of the four defending champs are opting in.

Other schools opting in include Homestead, Edison and Miami Palmetto.

A lot of school's are going to use paid platforms to make up for lost revenue with tickets. This is just the way it is going to be this year.

I hope we can keep it rolling. Tarpons got the game in, they're playing around SW FL and the Canes start Thursday night - things are looking up.

It was awesome to click on the scoreboard and see game results. My team isn't playing yet but my normal ritual after our games is to come home and dissect the results on this sites scoreboard. God I hope this continues!

Covid somehow picked up wins over Hillsborough High School and Jefferson High School in the same week to move to 2-0 on the season.
Covid vs. Randazzo should be a good match-up this year.

My garbage collection switched from Mondays and Thursdays to Tuesday and Fridays.   Other than that, my schedule is pretty much the same.

I’m eager to see how Randazzo does in their second year.
Excited to see the fake scores some deranged person who created the profile inputs this year.
Hopefully some overtime thrillers and down to the wire classics!!

I'm afraid said deranged person may have to change the imaginary team's name to have a second season . . . I'm pretty sure MaxPreps finally caught wind of what was going on and removed Randazzo from their website.  Disappointing to say the least;  I was really looking forward to seeing how some of those underclassmen progressed.

I am working on that, but I am also seeing a of schedules still incomplete on MaxPreps which is odd. Usually most will have schedules out. I guess a lot are in wait and see mode to see what the FHSAA decides to do.
