Blountstown played Pt St Joe 3 times

Maxpreps and Scorestream both say they did. What’s the deal with that? I get the playoff game but did they schedule a home and home in the same year? What’s the backstory with that?

There is an explanation, but not exactly what you hypothesized.  Blountstown and PSJ are both members of something called the North Florida League of the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.  Since there is no district play in 1R, some north Florida 1R schools formed a league, presumably to aid in scheduling (or create a trophy to play for).  So, Blountstown and PSJ played in week 6 of the regular season.  In week 10, the #1 and #2 teams played for the league championship; in this case, Blountstown and PSJ played each other.  Then they ended up being drawn against each other in the second round of the FHSAA 1R playoffs.  So yes, three games in one year.

Thank you. Probably not often that happens. It appears Sneads and Holmes County both played twice in the regular season as well. Once on 9/16 and 10/28

Holmes and Sneads could have met in the playoffs if they made it far enough and that would have been 3 times for them as well
