East Lake at Lakeland - Bill Castle's 500th game as head coach

Nothing overly special about this matchup. Lakeland is coming off a big win against Apopka, 42-35. East Lake is playing on a short week after edging Pinellas Park 17-16 on Monday night.

This is the Spectrum "Game of the Week" for Tampa Bay. (They missed the boat on covering Lakeland/Apopka).

The one big story locally coming out of this game is the milestone that will be reached. Bill Castle will be coaching his 500th game at Lakeland High as a head coach. ( He was an assistant for 5 years previous to taking over the head coaching duties in 1976).

Pinkos has Lakeland by 35. I believe this is the first time these two teams have met.

Hell of a O.T. game against Dwyer in  the Semis that year. Dwyer went on to beat Niceville for the 7A state title. East Lake was really good that year but like most teams in Pinellas county they just couldnt stay consistent.
