I think Columbus is now the favorite from the South.  Does South Dade have a good shot tonight?

On consistency and taking care of business alone Columbus is the favorite.  I believe the team with the best shot to have beat Columbus was probably Miramar but that is water under the bridge.  For the most part, you generally don't beat Columbus unless you genuinely are better then them, usually with overwhelming talent.   Southridge and Delray Atlantic on paper are probably the most talented 8A South teams  left , but I still make Columbus and HC Chris Merrit the favorite at this point.

South Dade may have the talent to match Columbus and make things interesting....  I do have to pinch myself though to remember Columbus is arguably one of, if not the best coached team in SFL IMO. Should be a great game!

 

Columbus played @ South Dade in 2015 in a matchup where both teams were better then this year and Columbus took the Buccaneers to the woodshed on their own field.  Mind you, Columbus was arguably a top 5 team in the state that year IMO.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

IMO Columbus has a similar trend to Osceola.  Have had more talented and better teams in '14, '15, had a "down" year in '16, and are now a bit young but maturing with talent riding a wave that may however peak next year....Both well coached and consistent programs that you can generally expect to see playing deep into November like clockwork....
