Running back played 3 years at Newton High, transferred to Grayson for 1 semester and helped them win state championship, then transferred back to Newton after the season.  His father rented an apartment in Grayson district in August before the season, but never paid the rent after that.  He was eventually cleared.

The proposal mentioned in the videos below was officially tabled last year.   “The appeals process was part of the concern,” said Steve Jones, executive committee rep for Region 4AAAAAAA. “There were 6,000 transfers processed in Georgia last year, and there are about 10 people at the GHSA office. There could be a lot of appeals and hardship cases that are looked at.”  Jones also said the extra time will allow the Transfer Eligibility Task Force, which developed the “50-percent rule,” to continue to work out any perceived rough areas to avoid unintended consequences.

“For this to be effective, the GHSA needs a more defined enforcement arm,” Jones said. “They have budgeted $25,000 for private investigators to help, but $25,000 is not going to go very far.”
