Soul bowl in Broward and Dade has fell off. Dillard will have a running clock early and hopefully gets out the game with no injuries. Few people have been excited about the soul bowl these past years.

Honestly I can agree, for example Dillard fans show up regardless, but if ely is not doing well their community doesn’t show up at all and it’s sad. But hey let’s just ready for the playoffs.

I lived in plantation in the early 70's so I've kept tabs on them. They seem hot and cold lately.

IMHO they look lukewarm this season. Doesn't mean they can't play really good like against Dillard. Maybe they just now getting hot. They had a fairly easy schedule and that hurt them against Dillard. Plantation vs Coconut Creek was a good game. Plantation has had a few bad years but for the most part they field some talent that can catch a good team off guard and when they get hot are very hard to beat. I think Dillard caught a very warm Plantation.

Could be or Dillard was just better and was able to counteract all the punches plantatoon threw at us.

i look at it like this, whenever Steve Davis us under the helm plantation is a very good football program, when he resigned for those few years plantation was terrible.

with that said I’m the beginning of the year plantation had about two consecutive weeks off because of Covid cancelation games & when they finally was able to play they lost to creek, some can say plantation came in with sea legs that game and that was their downfall.

but since then plantation steamrolled everyone else they played (be as it may subpar opponents) but losing to Dillard gave  plantation only their second lost of the season.

for someone who was at the games I saw two great teams peaking at the right time looking to  make a run in the playoffs

    • Dillard - I'm not sure that hiring a HS football coach is the same as bringing a student on board the team. I think that any school can hire any football coach that they want any time they want. They can even hire a football coach that is currently coaching at another school. Where did you find that it's illegal?
    • IMO the FHSAA should simply return to the previous rules that if a student transfers from one school district to another they would be allowed to in accordance with Florida law. However, that student could only transfer for academic reasons and would have to remain out of sports for the first full season of that particular sport. As I understand it, when the Florida Legislature passed the law that allowed students to transfer anywhere and at anytime they had academics in mind. It was a law that allowed students to transfer from a poor performing school academically to a good performing school academically and not for the explicit purpose of playing a game. I wonder if the Florida Legislature fully understands what happens when students are allowed to transfer explicitly for sports and how some of those transfers seriously disturb the natural flow of events with the sports team of those schools. To make matters worse they are now proposing that some high school students, that just happen to be good at playing a game, be paid for their participation. Truly amazing.
    • In the words of Chris Rainey...
    • Independent contractors....   What will go wrong with this?
    • I seriously can't remember how many times I had to do that very thing. Like Nolebull said in another discussion, the kids know kids from other schools and where the "hot hand" is. I never entertained discussions with kids or parents of kids from other schools. I know we lost some good ones because of it but I am ok with that.
