  1. PK coaches wanted to reschedule (Saturday or Monday) and they did not. Eden James was hurt (hip/got a shot before the game. Edgerrin James walked him out of the locker room well after the team), #4 (the other RB was limping), and they had Vero up next (would’ve had to play them on a short week). Scared, maybe not. But CONVENIENTLY had a reason to not play.

    RPI is a joke

Who remembers the 1999 & 2000 seasons? Those two seasons there were only 3 Districts per region instead of 4. Districts had more teams, usually 7. District champs & runner-ups both got in the playoffs and two at large wildcard spots were reserved for the two teams with the best w/l record. I don't remember any teams with losing seasons getting in the playoffs and a few of the wildcard teams went deep in the playoffs those years.

  3. I agree with you! I was rooting for Dillard to win as well! Dillard can beat STA. It's hard to beat a team twice.

  4. Killian and Dillard are both good teams. Neither team is elite yet. They both have played below average schedules. Dillard played STA tough but at the end of the day they lost. No moral victories if you want to be considered a top team in Florida. Coach Tate will have Dillard ready for the playoffs. Killian and Dillard has the talent to make some noise in the playoffs. My South Florida top tier teams right now are.... Central, STA, Chaminade, Da West, Gibbons, Hertiage 2nd Tier Dillard, Killian, Gulliver, Western, Deerfield, Palmetto, Homstead

    RPI is a joke

This formula seems to have merit as I like the two automatic qualifiers from each district with minimum of 6-7 teams per district. The mathematical formula for RPI is there, so apply it to determine the wildcard teams knowing there will always be dissent from those that get left out. As you rightfully pointed out earlier in this thread, if you can't place first or second in the district then we can live with you pissing and moaning about it. Outliers can always be pointed out, but overall HWY17 idea I like.

  11. Bro get your facts right. STA played Western at STA. Western played a solid game against STA too! Showed up and lost though. Moral Victories again.

  12. Rankings are opinions! I live in SF and go to all the big dog games. I have not seen Dillard beat a big dog. Just alot moral victories. These teams have beat big dogs in the last two years. CENT, STA, Chaminade, Gibbons, Hertiage and the West. And they schedule tough opponents. Levels to this. But we are waiting on Dillard to bring home a FHSAA state championship. It will make the community so proud.

  13. Gibbons beat Venice and Gainesville Buchholz Hertiage was beating STA before they QB got hurt (not saying they would have beat STA). And they lost to Trinty because Mark Fletcher and the QB was out.

  14. I'm from South Florida and I go to several games a week! Been doing it for years. Maxpreps also says Dillard has the weakest schedule by far out of the top 25 in the state. Dillard is known in South Florida for playing a weak regular season schedule. That's why many feel they struggle with the elite teams. Like I said earlier, I do believe Dillard can make a serious run in the playoffs. You have to beat a big dog to be the big dog!

  15. Before Dillard played STA so many analysts and posters on and off here said in order for Dillard to show they are “ELITE” they have to show they can hang with the #15 team in the NATION NATIONAL powerhouse STA, it was ALSO stated even if DILLARD lost it would be HOW they lost that would be DETERMINED if they were ELITE or NOT. NOT only was it CLOSE Asf, NOT only Did JASON TAYLOR STA DC say dillard was the TOUGHEST opponent they’ve face which includeS ST FRANCIS & Jesuit who they lost to. but dillard was a 4th & GOAL away from BEATING STA on their HOME TURF in front of over 6,000 fans. Only a (ELITE) team would be able to do that, ANY other team would have been BLOWN out AKA gibbons, AKA ST FRANCIS(whose nationally ranked also by the way)

At the moment, Lakeland is the top-ranked team in 7A, Region 2. Yet, because they lost 38-32 to Lake Gibson-currently sitting with three losses- Lakeland is all but guaranteed to play *every* single playoff game on the road due to automatically being seeded no better than #5 due to not being district champions. So, what's the point of having an RPI if it's really just all about winning whatever district you're placed in?

  17. That’s interesting that you put the west as top tier , is it because of their name and pass success , because by the statement you just gave (No moral victories) The bulls was ran out of traz Powell by Venice, they turned around and was ran out of Tampa by iMG, then they were down 21-7 to Miami central before a few lose balls went their way but ultimately they still lost. So In retrospect every “BIG” game they had they lost, I mean we’re going based off this year and not the last right.??

  18. I dunno. It's really hard to get to 10 penalties, let alone 20 (wow!) without the officials perhaps getting a little too involved. Some penalties like offsides/false starts they have to call but others like PI and holding are very subjective and the officials should err on the side of letting them play unless the foul affected the play or was very blatant. It's a cliche statement but yes, you can call holding on every play if you really wanted to, especially with the modern inside hands blocking techniques that everyone teaches. I went to a JV game a month ago where the officials called holding on every drive by both teams and it greatly affected the flow of the game and called back many great plays by both teams. Edit: CG got hit with 15 penalties themselves. Clearly the officials were too involved in this game.

3 team districts was the real problem. When there were 7-9 team districts the top 2 had winning records.

  22. Oh we’re gonna do that regardless lol, the diff between us & western WESTERN was home & they were dominated by 10 points they gave up 31 to STA offense, we held STA to 14 points offensively their lowest of the season let’s not forget b4 that block punt it was 13-16 with 3 min to go. we ALL Talk SOS, year our junk WEAK ASf compared to the other top schools, BUT when we have FINALLY played GREAT opponents we have SHOWED UP! even as a GREAT (ELITE) Team you still LOSE games, but don’t mention other teams ahead of Dillard who has gotten blown out in their big games and have multiple loses that’s blasphemous I can care less who they are and what they did in previous years were talking about THIS YEAR.
