College overtime rules, though not perfect, would be fairer than what is now in place. The problem with the NFL rules is that too much rides on a random flip of a coin (which determines which team gets the ball first). To me, it should be I score, you get your shot, you score ... and so on till one team fails to score. That way, the coin toss is solely strategic and is not a gimme for the team winning it.

You kinda remind me of a kid I went to school with... He wasn't able to play the game with us but he was very enthusiastic about helping the program in any way.  (He was our game announcer (probably the only student in our county to do it), our JR year and then when a new coach was hired we introduced him to him and he made him the team manager and helped the coach out with breaking down film, all the administrative duties and fund raising stuff.
 
Kid went to college on his own merit and became some sort of team manager intern at FSU and later got a full time position after graduating at VSU and ended up eventually at UGA under Richt. 
 
I am sure he is still doing it now not sure where but he made a career out of being an enthusiastic participate.

actually its the opposite... They lost 2 D1 players and according to someone from a rival school will lose 2 or 3 more this summer. 

Oh, so a 4A team could actually win 4A only playing 4 4A teams? Wow.

With the exception of the St. Thomas/Plant game all the final games were either reasonably or very competitive. In fact these were the best overall finals in a long time. Pity the attendance was not better.

Just look at the replay of the game on TV. Baker did have a decent turn out. But they had nowhere near close to 1,000 fans. That was a long trip for them.
 
Pahokee and Glades Central fans always travel. That game could have been at Baker and Pahokee still would have had at least 1,000 fans.

A few years back it used to be a yearly event where a team, made up of College All Stars, played the winner of the Super Bowl or whatever the NFL championship game was called in those days.The best college players actually played the Super Bowl winner. Even with the 22 best college players there was never an all star team that defeated, or even came close to defeating, an NFL team. It would be the same as putting a professional boxer in the same ring with an amateur boxer. The amateur would probably be knocked out within a couple of rounds. 

Season almost over and gotta have something to talk about lol

I would give an elite top 25 HS team a better chance against a D2 team than any college team against an NFL team for sure.
Give me an all SFL all- star squad with 17-19 year olds and let them practice for 6 months together under elite coaching and I'll put them up against any D2 team with players from 18-22 years old and I think it is a tight game.
 
I have watched local HS kids go to Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State etc.. this year and to my surprise literally laying out BCS/Big 10 seniors, scoring TDs, getting player of the game awards, and to be honest seeing WRs look almost and sometimes more dominant at the NCAA level than against the best high school DBs locally.
 
I guarantee you that a kid like Calvin Ridley sometimes faced stronger Junior/Senior DBs in Broward than the non-SEC schools that Alabama faced last year. Than you have him being that dominant as a FR in the SEC... He was on a damn good High School team and was not even dominating like he is in college.
Devin Bush out of Flanagan, even with limited playing time as a FR at Michigan is fearless and already one of the hardest hitters in the Big-10.
 
Like the NFL, I think the biggest difference from HS to college from a position aspect is all in the trenches OL/DL.
 
There simply are exceptions that people don't want to hear or admit to though. Joey Bosa probably could have made a NFL practice squad roster as a Senior in HS. The only edge I would give other players over him is mental toughness that comes with experience...He went to Ohio State and continued to toy with OLs...BCS football was a stepping stone for Bosa to the NFL but let's be truthful here - a very small stepping stone. BCS players did not challenge Bosa much more than the TOP HS players he faced.
As a 20 or 21 year old. Bosa is now on the SD Chargers and arguably an upcoming All- Pro for what could be a long time.

This is an argument brought up every few years when there is an exceptionally bad nfl team and a dominant college team in the same season.  The truth is that no college team could ever compete with an nfl team there is just too much difference in talent.

That is the what society is turning into today. He probably wants a participation trophy because he thinks they tried real hard. What he does is give the entire fan base a black eye and it looks bad. Baker got beat, plain and simple. If they played 10 times Pahokee probably wins 9. He needs to learn that Baker lost, time to get better not complain.

What's crazy, is that it was a good, clean game. I guess he needed a reason to justify the loss.

I went back and read newspapers article from last year when St. Joe knocked them out in the semifinals 42-13 it was written by a different and was not attacking the class(I think we all know what he was really talking about) of PSJ he did bring up questionable calls by the officials. I guess they can't accept that sometimes you run into a better team. But don't worry Pahokee the opinion of a newspaper reporter 700 miles away wont take any shine off that ring, congratulations.

Baker always tends to be a little on the soft side.  They are well coached and are always good just not a lot of grit.  I was really surprised they got past Blountstown.  For this reporter to try and paint Pahokee as dirty is just sour grapes. To win the state championship you have to have skill and toughness and the hardest hitting team usually wins.

Ironic that we got a great 6a game when we got 2 new teams
