I know, I wrote at top I am  really familiar with Palm beach County and only the real elite teams in broward and dade so Ill do a top ten for pbc. I think talent wise pahokee is up there, but that schedule is rough and their record may not show it. Ill throw a top 20 for all of south fl out there:

A true dark horse I see in South Florida is Hialeah High. They are a perennial 4-6 win team that went 9-1 last season. They lost in the first round of the playoffs to South Dade, but they were a young team led by freshmen and sophomores. They just won the 7 on 7 tournament at UM last week and they have some promising players. 

I met them 2 young kids last year at the Central vs Gibbons game.. I saluted them young dudes and told them Gibbons bout to get smash lol..

Central and Carol City hit the jackpot by potentially not having to play NW twice a year and going through NW for a state title. I hate they broke up the classification but everybody in the SEC district of old now has easier path to state. 

Trash last year cause of a coach that said his plays worked for 30 years and he’s gone now.. Y’all wasn’t lighting up last season like that.. 

Good ending, but that was just a kickoff return for a touchdown.
I think the ending for the 98 Soul Bowl between Northwestern and Jackson or the ending of the State Championship game between Northwestern and Seminole were far more exciting.

That was my thought, I don't see a blowout for MNW by any means.

I think the argument for separating publics and privates is losing strength. 
In 4A, Cardinal Gibbons will have to deal with Booker T and Carol City in the south, and Bolles will have Cocoa in the north.  In 5A, American Heritage will have to deal with Northwestern.  If they are able to get past them, they have Raines and Vanguard in the north.  St Thomas' playoff path just got a little tougher, and they have not won a state title two years in a row due to public schools.  Chaminade and Trinity Catholic are virtually competing in a private league in 3A.  Outside those teams, which private school(s) is really a threat?
Not that I am completely averse to separating them, but I don't see a big justification.  ...just so some folks don't have to deal with a few private schools, all of whom can and have been beaten by public schools?  St Thomas is the best of the lot, and though excellent,  they are not exactly dominating the better public schools.
