Last time I checked, those roads run in both directions.       Yeah, I know . . . a team north of Dade still has to agree to play the Dade team.

Nolebull, I hereby nominate you to redraft the FHSAA rules to somehow take into account quality of competition.  I'm particularly interested to see if you'll somehow reference ColumbiaHighFan's ranking system to determine whether one team can or cannot play multiple games in a week.

Any game your defense gives up almost 50 points should be cause for real introspection and try to focus on things you can do to improve while ignoring the outside noise.   The hype means nothing if you learned nothing as you can be staring at another night like this in another couple of weeks as you face another juggernaut. 

Billed as the game of the week in Central Florida, it lived up to its billing.  A back and forth game that we had a chance to win in regulation but hats off to them blocking the extra point to send the game into Overtime 20-20. They won the toss and of course decided to go on offense last.  On the first play of OT from the 10, Sophomore sensation Taevion Swint punched his 4th TD of the game and we hit the extra point for a 27-20 lead.  On their possession, one of their receivers caught a short pass around the 5 on second down and managed to drag one of our secondary defenders into the endzone.  After a timeout they elected to go for 2 and dialed up an excellent pass play to score the winning 2 points.  Fans on both sides definitely got their monies worth and Seminole offense will definitely be problematic for anyone.  They ended up being the better team making a couple more plays than us and certainly deserve their ranking at the top of 4M.   Most pundits didn't think we could win or even be this close.   We will see how we can continue to  improve for the remainder of the season to come out on top in these type of games. 

So it's just like musical chairs.   Taking the Covid-plus years out of the equation, there are just as many chairs as there used to be for just as many kids as there have always been.   The only difference is that D1 coaches, knowing the value of a scholarship and how much it can hurt a program when a few recruits don't pan out, are more inclined to take a chance on a portal kid who already has a year or two of development under his belt.  That, in turn, should create more opportunities at the schools where kids are leaving from. 
It's just going to end up looking like a big funnel, with the top D1 schools at the narrow end, scooping up the top portal players. 
I don't really like the portal, but it's probably here to stay.  But I think a lot of the problem has to do with the backlog created by giving kids an extra season or two because of Covid.   Because of that, fewer kids have moved through the system on a regular schedule, which created fewer open spots.   The high school kids in the last couple of graduating classes have suffered because of this decision.   In theory, that problem should resolve itself in the next year or two.  Then, the game of musical chairs will continue with an equal number of kids leaving college football and coming into college football every year.  The kids in the portal will just give the top teams more options, but if those kids are leaving smaller/lesser programs for the chance to play with a top team, that should create more openings at the big end of the funnel.

I like how the vice president of student affairs said the school was "investigating."   Seriously?   What needs to be investigated?!?  The woman posted it on her own IG account.  She's not hiding anything.  Literally nothing. And it's not like the VP has to go through all the girls' dorms asking the coeds to drop their panties so he can compare booties.   Or maybe that's exactly what he's doing. 
I can just hear the VP telling his wife as he leaves for work in the morning:  "Sorry, honey, I have to work late tonight on an important investigation.  I could be up all night." 
And in the meantime, just in case it happens again (and again and again), the school installs cameras near the fountain . . .  not to keep it from happening again, but just to make sure they can watch the video (again and again) when it does happen.

But if we're talking "population density," the I-4 corridor is more centrally located. 
As for your other question, Tropicana Field can indeed accommodate football.  Until last year, the annual Shrine Bowl (college all-star game) was played there.   The set-up is a little awkward and it's rather vacuous, but there is plenty of parking and it can be done. 
I'd rather see the game played at a cozier place like UCF's on campus stadium (or USF's once it is built).  I know the FHSAA has tried to stay away from 'college fields,' but I like the idea of playing all the games in one location (that needs to have artificial turf).  With nine games now being played, a Wednesday-Saturday format would work, especially if the Rural championship game was played elsewhere. 

But there's a whole 5-team district in the northern half of the state.  
Seriously, there are literally 5 teams in 1M north of I-4.   Every other team is from the Orlando GMA, Tampa Bay GMA or South Florida.  If a Tampa Bay team were to upset TCA, you could easily end up with a team from Tampa playing a team from South Florida (likely Chaminade) in Tallahassee. 
Snarky criticism aside, I'm guessing the FHSAA had to make a 2-year commitment to both Tallahassee and Ft. Lauderdale last year when they had to scramble after the Daytona fiasco.  They need to get back to Orlando.
