This is what many feel will be a battle to take second place (to Deerfield Beach) in 8A-11.  The district is essentially a 3 way battle between Deerfield Beach, Stoneman Douglas and Piper.  Piper comes in 5-0 but have not faced close to the schedule of Stoneman Douglas who fought hard but eventually fell to solid Boyd Anderson and Dillard teams. Douglas has been looking better every week and will be the first test for Piper.

Both of these teams love the ground, but that is a part of the game that I think the Douglas Senior led OL will show dominance.  Piper may take a few chances deep through the air with a FR QB against a Douglas secondary that was pretty exposed against BA and Dillard.

Park Vista @ Boca Raton 7PM Monday 10/10

Another key District game here.  8A-10 is very wide open right now with Boca Raton, Park Vista, Lake Worth and Atlantic.  Leonard is hanging in there on a dental floss lifeline.

Park Vista will look to take control of this District Monday evening and bring in a pretty good first half resume.  The Cobras are undefeated and are coming off a 35-0 shutout win over District foe Leonard.  Other notable Wins for Park Vista include @ Boynton, Lake Worth, and Delray Atlantic.

Boca Raton brings a 4-1 record coming in and are coming off a very close loss to 1A power Pahokee.  Boca's best win of the year would be a 30-28 win over 8A-9 front runner PB Gardens.

Overall, both Boca Raton and Park Vista have been solid defensively surrendering a combined 20 ppg on the season.

so both road teams won?

Yup. Two tight games and both road teams won. Went to the Piper Douglas game. QB for Douglas threw a pick on the first play of the game. No lie.

Piper capitalized quick and that was basically a done deal. Douglas is not rebuilt to play from behind.

Piper looked decent. Had a few athletes out there...
