What a comeback from Columbus, what a superb job by them to pull that one out!

A couple posters called it - CAI giving some early trouble with Columbus pulling it out. It was just that.

The huge O-line and impressive Knight's RB gashed our defense for an entire half. There was some sloppy play, including a few turnovers and uncalled fro penalties that are to be expected for the first outing of the season. But I tip my hat to Coach Dunn and Trujillo for making the needed halftime adjustments.

The Explorers entered the 2nd half with two quick drives and put up 14 within a couple minutes. Went on to run 28 unanswered points on the road. Sr. QB Mendoza looked brilliant rolling out and the ball got distributed to multiple play makers. Between a solid kicking game and a much more focused defense, the Explorers' confidence increased as clock wound down.

Overall, this is an exceptional win on the road over a solid CAI squad, if only for the reason that our boys now know they are never out of the game if they adjust and execute. Huge confidence builder to kick off the year. We got a solid schedule ahead of us.
