What the heck happened to Miami Central his season?

IMO they bit off way more than they could chew. Alot of that central team is still underclassed so graduating the class they did in 2022 they should have only replaced what they lost. Instead it seemed they were just accepting kids just because and thats the difference between Coach Jube (New Dade) and Coach Roland Smith (Original Dade). They should revert back. 

I think it's possible to have "too much" talent. Perhaps Central was trying to appease the multiple talented QBs and it disrupted chemistry etc. It's also possible that none of the QBs were complete players, and so they tried to use all of them to use each players' talents. But, then you become predictable.

I think we should use some caution in being "doomsday" in regards to Central. No team with a single loss beat them (BG, Chaminade and Norland are all unbeaten), and each of the losses was EXTREMELY close. Bishop Gorman appeared to be beaten, before snatching a win in the final seconds in a home game for them. Chaminade benefitted from the big TD called back due to being marked down, which many debated. And Norland won both games on walk-off FGs in overtime. The world isn't ending for Central...unless the losses lead to a "cultural shift" in regards to where the top players want to play in future seasons. Norland does return its record-setting QB, so they may fare better in recruiting going into next season.

Last, yes, Vanguard's showing vs. Central in the classic could also have been seen as an indicator that the Knights were going to be a force to be reckoned with this season, as they have been. The point is that there was much to be learned from the outcome of that kickoff classic, whether people want to believe so or not.
