Speaking of BTW, they also won back to back 7 on 7 in New Smyrna Beach, FL. a few years back. The thing about those local business sponsored events is the Tornadoes walked away with a check for $5,000 two years in a row. You don't see that anymore. They keep the money now.

My bad, getting old is a bitch. They won $10,000 each year. Runner -up got 5K.

For anybody interested, this was how the NSB tournament was set up with a 10K top prize and a 5K runner-up. Promoters now keep it all.

The 3 Regional Qualifiers for the Florida High School 7v7 Association State Championship series just wrapped up yesterday and here are the results from the 3 tournaments:

Central Florida

1st Spruce Creek HS

2nd Vero Beach HS

3rd Melbourne Central Catholic

4th St. Cloud

 

North Florida

1st Lake City Columbia

2nd St Augustine

3rd Bartram Trail

4th Sandalwood

 

South Florida

1st South Broward

2nd Palm Beach Central

3rd Glades Central

4th Piper

 

The top 4 teams at each tournament will move on to play for the 2017 FHS7v7A State Championship on July 15th.
