Manatee was a product of a merger of Bradenton High and Palmetto High in 1947. 

However, Manatee High still recognizes all of Bradenton Highs history as their own and even wrote a book about it.

Some say that Jackson High from Jacksonville recognizes Duval High as their own history. 

Duval High started football in 1907 and split into Landon, Jackson and Lee in 1928. 

So if Jackson recognizes Duval as their own, then that would make them tied for 2nd oldest ever
