7A Region 1 - An Early Look

4 playoff teams from last season return(Lincoln, Buchholz, Edgewater and Fletcher).  This region features 9 playoff teams from last season (those with a double asterisk).  District 1 may be the most competitive district of any in the state, regardless of classification.  It's quite possible that 4 teams from this district will make the playoffs.  The runner-ups will all have long, first round road trips.  Thus, winning that district will be a boon.  Navarre and Crestview played twice last year, splitting the series.  8A contender Wekiva moves down to join the party.  The Edgewater vs Wekiva game during the regular season will likely determine the district 3 champion, so expect a clash.  The loser of that game could be facing a long, first-round road trip.  District 4 may be one of the weakest districts in the state, regardless of classification.  Team records from last season are listed below.

This region could have looked like below if it was in place last season.  Crestview beat Navarre in the playoffs last season, so we could have had a #8 seed upsetting a #1 seed.  The region semis could have had Crestview at Buchholz and Edgewater at Niceville.  I think this has the potential to be a fun region with intriguing matchups.

dist 4  is abysmal.  wow.  basically throwing crap against the wall and whichever sticks is the dist champ.  wow.
