Calvin ridley who is verbally committed to alabama and is ranked #6 nationally by espn and rivals. Com is ineligible after monarchs 3rd game vs piper September 19th ridley who is 6'1 175 and caught 41 catches for 1,131 yards was the team bread and butter to another playoff berth and possibly contending for a title now with this lost how will this effect them going foward in the year??

Because of his age I forgot to meantion that after there 3rd game vs piper he would be 19 years old and 9 months and the state rule is if your over that age and months u can't play now if monarch tried to keep that on the hush hush and let's say they went deep into the playoffs alll those games would have been script.

Not true. The rule states that if you reach 19 years, 9 months while the current sport you are participating is in season, you may finish out the season in that sport. He'll get to finish out the entire season. He would be intelligible for any sport after football however (i.e. Basketball, Track & Field)

Not true look it up.! Perfect ex who it has happened to.... kelvin Benjamin rookie of da Carolina panthers he turned 19 years old and 9 months at the end of end of his Sr year and couldn't participate in the last 2 games of that year including the playoffs after ridleys 3rd game he cannot play he and the school said it

      I seriously can't remember how many times I had to do that very thing. Like Nolebull said in another discussion, the kids know kids from other schools and where the "hot hand" is. I never entertained discussions with kids or parents of kids from other schools. I know we lost some good ones because of it but I am ok with that.

In a lot more words, see the following: (From 2023-24 FHSAA Handbook) 36.2 GENERAL DEFINITIONS 36.2.1 Athletic Recruiting. “Athletic recruiting” is any effort by a school employee, athletic department staff member or representative of a school’s athletic interests to pressure, urge or entice a student to attend that school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.   and this . . . 36.2.2 Improper Contact. “Improper contact” is contact, either directly or indirectly, whether in person or through written or electronic communication, by a school employee, athletic department staff member, representative of the school’s athletic interests or third parties, such as an independent person, business or organization, with a student or any member of the student’s family, in an effort to pressure, urge or entice the student to attend a different school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.  See Policy 37.    In fact, if the kid contacts the coach at another school, the coach is not supposed to communicate with the kid other than to refer the kid to the person at the school responsible for admissions.    Best I can tell, there is no exception for being able to reach out to a kid who plays a sport that is not offered by the school that the kid currently attends.  Perhaps there should be . . . but then you'd really be opening Pandora's Box.

      So you are not allowed to talk to a kid who is not an active football player currently attending a school that doesn’t have a football team?

      1.  Ask around and get the kid's phone number. 2.  Call the kid.  3.  If that doesn't work, DM the kid.  4.  Once communications are established, try to convince the kid to come to your school.  There may be other ways, but I think this would be the easiest way to recruit a kid .
