Plant-Armwood rivalry called off

The Tampa Bay Times has reported that the Plant-Armwood rivalry has been called off for the next two years at least. This is all due to the fact that Armwood is now in a 9-team district for the next two years, meaning only two non-district games can be played by the Hawks. The report indicated that it could return in 2015-16 depending the reclassification cycle.

Also to note Plant will not play Jesuit the next two years, also due to scheduling issues as Plant is playing in a six team district this year.

You know it is a great question as to who, but we won't know until Hillsborough County releases the full schedule which will not come out for another few weeks likely.

I will tell you this news is not what I would have expected considering how strong the gates are for those rivalry games are.

When you release the schedules on here, is it just the teams themselves, or is it a county thing? Are you guys releasing more tonight?

Got more in the works although they might not be out tonight. We are just going district by district right now. Hillsborough County usually comes out at all at once, like Miami-Dade does as well.

As I posted, Armwood's non district games are Strawberry Crest and Durant. These games are gass savers. There was supposed to be a rule about the top 5 in the county playing each other every new cycle. Spoto and Middleton were in a 9 team discrict from 2011-2012. So It's nothing new
