IMG played Miami Northwestern in SFL before

Well main reason it wouldn't happen before was because George Smith refused to allow the game to happen 

 

It may happen eventually but idk if STA gains much playing IMG and beating them, they already have the credibility as one of the best athletic programs in the country, them beating IMG would just be adding another team to a long list of OOS powers who have fallen to the Raiders

STA is afraid to lose their talent if iMG crush STA especially at iMG where the raiders can see the facility that’s gonna make STA look bad & iMG is gonna pooch their talent like crazy

Columbia went over there for a KOC and destroyed IMG, not a single player ended up getting poached 

 

AHP went and beat IMG, I don't remember any players get poached

 

SFA and Mater Dei beat IMG, nobody got poached 

 

 

Sure early on IMG poached some players but now? They don't need to poach anyone, the athletes who want to go to IMG gonna go regardless of IMG playing their team 

 

 

And STA wouldn't get demolished by IMG because IMG Academy doesn't have a good enough coaching staff to pull that off

IMG hasn't proven they develop players any better than STA who has no problem pushing boatloads into the NFL

 

What sell is IMG gonna use to steal players from IMG? A weight room? Where do you think STA lifts weights, in a parking lot?

 

STA isn't no slouch with their facilities and has NFL players at every game, guys like Michael Irvin and Jason Taylor are NFL hall of famers 

 

What good does leaving STA for IMG do that it's gonna cause IMG to be able to poach talent like crazy?

[Perspective]

If your goal is to win a state title (which can be a goal for STA or AHP, but not for IMG), then it makes sense to play quality opponents, especially early in the season.   Iron sharpens iron.   However, if you want a shot at a mythical national championship, you've got to be very careful about who you play and when you play them.   You simply cannot afford a single loss (or perhaps even a really close win).  One stumble and *poof* national championship hopes go down the drain. 

It looks like the IMG/AHP match-up is a kick-off classic.  Under the right circumstances, I can see STA agreeing to play IMG in a future KOC game, but both teams may have too much to lose to play a regular season game.   As for this year, an AHP loss won't affect their chances of winning a state title.  But if IMG were to lose, even in a pre-season game, they're going to have a tough time staying in the top 20 nationally -- and even if they stay in the top 20, they can run the table and probably won't be able to move all the way into the number one spot by season's end.
