I warned about this. In the past, we could have a 5 playing an 6 in the first round or a 2 vs 4, or weirdly a 1 vs 3... the new system is designed to ensure a #1 has the easiest route, which means blowouts in round 1.

4 games played and none were competitive. 
Closest game was 21-3. 
Cocoa made a mockery of Lake Placid even being in the playoffs. Champagnat as well with Neumann. They let there foot off the gas. I think they were winning by 4 scores in the 1st quarter. 
Lot of blowouts coming tonight too. I guess there is no avoiding it

I will agree that there are many aspects of this new system that I personally don't like. West Orange got hurt by it, no doubt. And I can see where it does not look right that a team you beat head to head, even it was a close game, gets in and WO gets left on the outside looking in. 
My own point of view is that the old system minus 3 and possibly 4 team districts was better. In the playoffs, they could have always mixed and matched the brackets to get varying match-ups among different teams each year.

University School/glades winner will put a better fight but this one in no doubt

Every team you just mentioned would likely not travel to vero so Vero would have to pay good money to take those games and if i remember correctly the county would have to approve it

Wilks talked to the White Hat (head ref) after about the 10th flag from that same ref. The White Hat waved off several of the flags that ref threw after that. He shouldn't of had to do that. As a Rockledge grad, I was glad Rockledge won, but sad that the ref changed the game.
As a coach, I like to see fair play. Example; on defense, a Cocoa defender could flinch on a hard count but not cross the line and it was a guaranteed flag from that Ref. When Rockledge would flinch, nothing.
Not going to say anymore on this because it isn't doing anyone any good.
Wish all the Brevard teams the best in the playoffs. I would love to see 4 or 5 teams come home as state champs.
Brevard Teams;  3A MCC, 4A Cocoa, 5A Rockledge, Merritt Island, Palm Bay, 6A Heritage,and 7A Viera.

Region 2 of 5a is basically Clay and Baker County but region 1 is deep and region 4 got some solid teams at top with AHP, CG, and Jones

Unfortunate and frustrating  that one of these teams will be out in 72 hours and these Region 2 and 3 teams..SMH.....

Lakeland schedule is a joke. Best win , if you call it that cause there really isn't one, a down Apopka team they beat by 7 at home. Nothing really sticks out in a very mediocre schedule. Beat a 4-6 Kathleen team 10-3? Ok what gives? We went to DC and beat Gonzaga 21-6. Running clock wins against Martin County,Heritage, Palm Bay. Beat Rockledge in first game of year 13-6. Did we get punished by new format for losing at Cocoa in 2OT? 
Just studying bracket much easier path in top half. Second round game against Lake Nona instead of Plant, followed by obvious home field game in possible Viera vs. Lakeland match-up. Viera earned the home-field advantage by scheduling tough, seems they are another casualty to new system.

Next they need to move half the games to Saturday so high school fans can make another local game besides their own.

You guys are still killing me about this Kowboys/Hawks reschedule or not reschedule.  Viera is not a #1 seed because they got only 33 points for a loss to a top 6 team in all classifiations in our state (they did lose to Rock.) Cocoa.  And somehow the Dreadnaughts got 35 points for kicking  Bartow's 2 - 8 butt. 
Side note; Kathleen is better than Winter Haven, Gaither, East River, Wire Grass, and Lake Nona.  Lakeland, Viera, and Plant should be pleased the computer kicked them out,

Think Rockledge is Tier 3. I believe Osceola fans would agree,they played them and Viera,and Clearwater CC tough.After switching FSU commit to QB full-time beat Cocoa and destroyed Palm Bay and Merritt Island. Only thing holding them back early season was coaching. Hosting Cardinal Gibbons in 2nd round should score them plenty of points with you win or lose. Probably top 5 game in state second round.

Jimbo Fisher said he was interested but UF has a minimum height requirement of 5'4". 

Well the players choose to go there,  no one forced them to become hired mercenaries for a all star team 
 
If they want to experience it all they got to do is return to their orginal high school or maybe come to Columbia

I remember when I played I think it was the ‘03 season round one we thumped the team like 63-0 then round 2 we played that districts runner up and took us like 3 OTs to beat the runner up where the week prior we destroyed their districts champs. Anything can happen!

that first game is nuts.  2 of the 3 best 5A teams meeting in the first round.   That's crazy.   GIbbons and Jones is a picken game IMO and with Jones at home it could be a first round exit for Gibbons.  
Man they need to find a better seeding system.    

I had questions about rockledge early on bc i wasn't impressed with their schedule but that cocoa win impressed me, I'm keeping my eye on them closely this week
