So much for new format helping curb blowouts

4 games played and none were competitive.

Closest game was 21-3.

Cocoa made a mockery of Lake Placid even being in the playoffs. Champagnat as well with Neumann. They let there foot off the gas. I think they were winning by 4 scores in the 1st quarter.

Lot of blowouts coming tonight too. I guess there is no avoiding it

There are a handful teams like Cocoa that are going to blow out everyone they play but I would be willing to bet that more than half the games this week will be won by 20+ points.

You know the classes are watered down when the best team in class 4A-8A are all in the top 10 of the state. That's not right to have 5 teams in the top 10 from 5 different classes. We are the only state in the country like that.

In Georgia for example, the top 10 consists of  7 teams from 7A in the top team in 10 of the state.

1 class has 7 of the top 10 teams.

Florida has at most 2 from 1 class. That's a damn shame

So you think we should be top heavy like GA?

Should we also have Miami Northwestern play GA for the deaf and hype us as a better state as a result when we blow them out?

Point is if the teams can compete then having good teams in every class is a good thing

In my opinion if Florida but schools in districts and classes by competivness u wouldn’t have this issue

say a class with St. Thomas Miami central miami northwestern American Heritage plantation miami Carol city Venice Vero Viera Img (if they were Eligible ) Lakeland Columbia Colombus Miami Norland Deerfield And Miramar. And make that 1 Class They Can schedule whoever in the regular season but the road to the class crown will be threw all of these teams

2nd class Dillard Northeast Archbishop McCarthy Boyd Anderson Cooper City Nova South Broward Suncoast Wellington Forest Hill Mantaza Hialeah Miami Lakes Coral reef Dr Krop Ft Lauderdale Blanche Ely Hallandale . Again Can Schedule Whoever in the Regular season but the road to this class will be through these teams.

3rd Class Cardinal Gibbons Chaminade madonna Oxbridge American Heritage Delray Cocoa Raines bolles Jones Lake Gibson Ribault Lincoln Lee clear water central catholic Melbourne central catholic Trinity Christian Academy Godby Booker T Washington West Broward West Boca Raton Flanagan University school Apopka mainland Dr. Phillips Manatee Osceola plantation.

4th class Glades central pahokee Atlantic Dwyer coral gables western Famu Kathleen port St Joe  rockledge Madison Newberry Clewistion palm beach lakes palm beach central winter park niceville cocoa beach South Miami Miami high palmetto south Dade homestead southridge fort Walton beach Bartram Trail High .

and so and so forth ...just put me in charge now lol i guarantee make these classes exactly like this and you would be have much much better playoffs finals & regular season games.

I warned about this. In the past, we could have a 5 playing an 6 in the first round or a 2 vs 4, or weirdly a 1 vs 3... the new system is designed to ensure a #1 has the easiest route, which means blowouts in round 1.

How is Dillard in a class with northeast?

That looks more like you just trying to get easy road to states lol

And if nolebull is right then we shouldn't be in that class bc he said we can't compete with Lee or bartram trail so they should be in that class and we should be in a lower class :)

The classes are not in specific order i just put the classes together for which i believe would be best and for the record the class Dillard was put in would not be easy lol they would still have to work hard lol

I have good news and bad news on my projected plan for classifications

Good news is you wouldn't have any of district 16 in your class anymore

Bad is your district would be more challenging

I'll show you once i tweak it since i have a few updates to make bc of extreme travel in my orginal mock

coming from someone who likes to copy everyone.  Everytime you make a point you say so and so does it.  This point system we have was copied by a way worse state than Georgia.

You do realize Ohio uses a similar thing to the point system right?

Ohio probably as good or only slightly lower than GA

Well let's face reality, please. When you allow any team to "recruit" 20 D1 players this is the result (just a hypothetical example). A few teams become all star teams and then you have the rest who, for the most part, are the sisters of the poor. I am not even a coach and I think I could take 0-9 Bronson, recruit a whole bunch of D1 players from anywhere and everywhere, and probably vie for the 1A championship maybe in the first year. I respect a team like South Sumter. They are usually a very good team and even championship caliber. However some years, like 2017, they are terrible. Without a doubt they use their own home grown players and don't bring in mercenaries year in and year out. Maybe the coaches care more about developing the character of their own kids than putting a plaque up on their wall.

I just about to say the same thing about Dillard lol taking the easy way out

No one said that. Cocoa should be in the same class as teams like Chaminade and Oxbridge.

4A is horrible

4A is a mess. In our area the 4A schools are dominated by the 1A schools, keep in mind that most of these 1A schools have less than 300 students in 9-12 and 4A has minimum 601.  I really think 4A should be split up between 1,3,5A. The smaller 3A private schools should be moved down to 2A.

once again you miss the point.  You say so and so does it all the time to try and make your point but copying from Georgia is now a bad idea.  Georgia football greater than Ohio and  thought we copied Nebraska.  Once again not the point.

We copied Nebraska but Ohio uses something similar as do a few other states
