Also funny there have been times I have been critical of the FHSAA on ideas. You (Los) think I am all comfy with them? If that was the case I would be at their offices every day. Not a chance. 
 
Had people pushing me to apply for the PR job when it came open and I refused because I didn't want the job. 
 
Also, I had been pushing for changes for football for years, even before Coach Beasley was hired there. I have been vocal for a long time that football needs changes. So yeah I like to take some credit, but I don't because it is not my place. Also, I see my job is to be advocate for the sport because if this sport dies, this site dies. Simple as that. I am going to push for the positives because kids need high school sports more than ever.

Excuse me Los! I am the owner and publisher, not to be everyone's babysitter. For a long time I have not had to worry about people doing things that go beyond the level of respect I would expect from everyone on here. Now I have to take time to play policeman because you felt the necessary need to call a poster stupid because he was just showing support for his own school? Give me a damn break. You think my role is to sit back and just let someone be mean to someone? The fact is there are other posters who don't appreciate the fact of how you have treated people like Columbia on here. You can be genuine without calling people names.

I want you to be nice in the sense of not calling people names or belittling them because they disagree with you. Be fair, yes, but people do have a right to their own opinions and they have that right to agree or disagree with you.

I think what some people, from large metropolitan areas in particular, fail to understand is just because a team doesn't have multiple state championships that they aren't worthy of respect for what they have accomplished over a long period of time. Florida has the third largest population in the country and within its borders contains over 600 high schools with a football team. To say that only the 5-8 state champions in any given year are the only teams relevant is dead wrong. Most of us on these Florida message boards could give a $hit how our state teams are perceived on a national level. With more then 10,000 schools it's all BS anyway, opinions supported by more opinions. Lake City, like Mainland and St Augustine only have one title each in their entire history's. But in D-1 talent rich Florida they have been in the top 10% of all state teams (top 60 out of 600) for more then 20 yrs (IMO). How can one honestly disparage, insult, and degrade any successful high schools like these or any number of others I can't think of at this late hour. The current American mentality that there's only one winner and everybody else is a loser is for...well loser's.

Miami Palmetto was not 6-4 last year. Miami Palmetto was actually 9-2 last year and a district runner-up to Southridge. The Palmetto that WAS 6-4 is the Palmetto in Manatee County.

This is a better Naples schedule than the last few years. 7 playoff teams equals 21 bonus points for Naples. That could prove to be huge come seeding time.

A lot of all-area teams come out tomorrow (Christmas Day). Associated Press All-State teams likely New Year's (don't endorse those). The FloridaHSFootball.com All-State teams will come out towards the end of January since the Miami Herald doesn't release theirs All-Area until January and I take note to placement of the teams to help decided which players should be considered.

Broward, I was angry with the fact Jake Allen wasn't on the ballot. Also lack of Dade County representation on the ballot for players tells me they aren't trying hard enough to work with the media. We only get a week to submit nominations and really that is not enough time to get things together. It stinks.

And Happy Belated Birthday as well Zoe. I just celebrated my 30th on Wednesday.

Cocoa is not required to play any of those teams in that region. They can play all teams from 5A or above and sprinkle in a few out of state games which will be the case for sure.

I think I would say look for the FHSAA to possibly start having an all-day ticket next year. They have been doing this in other sports and now the FHSAA having the football finals finally in all one-weekend will likely allow for this to happen. The only reason they couldn't do it this year was the contract changes that had to be made thanks to the moves made by the ACC.

All the independents that came back in made the request to come back in not the FHSAA assigning them and then they see and run. Not what is going to happen here. There is no mandate to play other teams in your region. All of them choose to come back in because things now fit for them.
