Lots of what could be competitive games to choose from for Palm Beach, Broward and Dade this weekend.

Just a few that caught my eye (Bold games are my top choices) :

AHD versus Oxbridge Academy 7:00 Thursday - AHD comes in at 1-3 but could do a complete 180 on the season with a victory over district foe Oxbridge who comes in 5-0. Might be closer then expected.

Central versus Carol City 7:30 Friday Traz Powell - Central at 5-0 cannot let off the gas now.  Carol City looking to put a damper on the Rockets.  The Chiefs at 2-2 quietly only surrendering 27 pts this year.

STA versus Bishop Gorman 10 Friday ( Las Vegas - ESPN ? ) STA heads to Sin City as 16 point underdogs versus BG. Love 'em or hate 'em, no excuses not to tune in and watch this one.

Flanagan versus Miramar 7 Friday - Falcons at 4-1 and looking to potentially seal the District.  Miramar comes in at 4-1 and looking to take back the District since 2013.  Expect lots of laundry in this one.

Southridge versus South Dade 7 Friday - Southridge at 3-2  still seems to be looking for identity to compliment it's loaded roster.  South Dade comes in at 1-4 and appears to be weakening by the week...

Southwest versus Belen Jesuit 7:30 Friday Tropical Park  - Southwest goes in 5-0 and playing good ball right now.  Belen Jesuit at 2-2 looking for a quality win this weekend.

Dillard versus Boyd Anderson 7 Friday - Both teams come in at 3-1. Dillard coming off a bye, and BA coming off a beating from IMG. Dillard wants the district back and BA looking to deny that.

Pahokee versus Boca Raton 7 Friday - Both teams undefeated.  Battle for arguably the #3 spot in PB County to many.  Boca Raton won a close one last year in the muck.  Pahokee likely has this one circled.

Dwyer versus Olympic Heights 7 Friday Olympic Heights  is 4-0 and worth a mention versus an undefeated Dwyer team that appears to still be a heavy favorite in this one to many.

Jackson versus Hallandale 7 Friday - Jackson comes in at 1-3 with their only win versus BTW while Hallandale comes in at 2-2 in this District matchup.  An L for Jackson would essentially be a dagger for 2016.

Other games of note:

Fort Lauderdale versus Ely 7 Friday - Ely comes in 1-3 and FTL 2-2 in a District game that will allow the winner to see the playoffs.  Ely still looking for some O,  while FTL has done what has been expected.

Western versus Cypress Bay - 7 Friday - Both teams come in at 2-2 but Western's losses much more impressive.  CB gasping for air while Western still in the hunt of their competitive district with Flan and Mir.

Douglas versus Coral Springs - 7 Friday  Cross town rivalry game. Douglas comes in 2-2 but have been in both losses competitively.  Coral Springs comes in at 3-1 facing mostly below average competition.

    • I saw a post-season interview with a head coach that had just won another state championship. He mentioned in the interview thew he had been approached afterward with an excellent offer. He did end up rejecting it and staying where he is. He didn't get into how he was approached or any other details. Great question, though.
    • All of what you mentioned above is illegal. But yet all of what you mentioned are that tactics that’s used to “change those fortunes” lol smh.    it’s just are you slick enough to not get caught or are you to cautious to NOT take the risk & trust the process of doing everything by the book.
    • So if you are a public school with a failing football program and wanted to take it serious and get competitive, how are legally allowed to go about finding the top coaches to turn your fortunes around?    Are you allowed to talk to a current coach employee by another school? Do you have to wait until they are fired and unemployed?    Say you have some former alumni who made the pros and have a little money to throw around. Are they allowed to sweeten the deal and throw some money at a coach currently at another school? The former alum is not speaking as someone employed by a school: they are private citizen. Are they allowed to tell a coach I’ll give you a $25,000 check if you come to my former school. Maybe go buy a house and use it as a down payment.    What’s the rules?
    • How do you recruit a kid who is currently in limbo and doesn’t attend a school with a football program?
    • New NIL bylaws being discussed at the upcoming FHSAA Board of Directors meeting.  It's coming... https://fhsaa.com/documents/2024/5/7//BOD_Pkt_May_14_2024.pdf?id=5344
