We’ll kickoff classics is in the books a lot of interesting games last week and even the majority if not all didn’t count it was still a small gauge of the potential that some teams posses…..

so if I had to give my top 20 in south Florida going into week 1 it would look like this.

Where is it?

I agree with 1-6. I have Columbus at 7, Northwestern 8 and American Heritage 9. 10-15 are a crapshoot. I believe Monarch and Plantation have a claim to being around 14-15.

Im feeling like palmetto & southridge should fit in this mix over ely & creek. personally I think western is not like that but time will tell. the rest seems fairs

As far as palmetto I felt like they should be decent this year but yet no one is picking them to even compete with homestead

I don’t like Homestead over Norland. Also, I think Blanche Ely is better than Coconut Creek.

i mean they prolly wont but who past the top 11 would?

It’s a few teams 11-20 that I believe would give homestead a game.

would I favor Dillard over homestead right now ? No I would need to see a little more from Dillard as the season progress but I believe it would be a good game I don’t see a blowout if they played but that’s just my football opinion. Not even cuz I went to and played for Dillard.

Ely has digressed from a year ago, I was at the game last week. They’re smaller and have no beef in the trenches & their O line and D line is suspect luckily their schedule is weak as hell because if not that qb would’ve been running for his life a lot.

Coconut Creek is a threat to nobody. They’re far closer talent-wise to a Stranahan or Boyd Anderson, than a Dillard or Cardinal Gibbons.

Dillard with a good week of practice and fewer self-inflicted wounds could knock off STA on a good night. That’s the gap between these teams.

I feel you, only team that comes within 2 tds is miramar & thats a maybe. everybody else gets blown out 12-15

I believe Dillard is better then Miramar Miramar doesn’t even have a Td but that debate will be settled in a few weeks. But I stll stand on homestead wouldn’t blow Dillard out that would be a good defensive game.

    • In a single word, "no." In a lot more words, see the following: (From 2023-24 FHSAA Handbook) 36.2 GENERAL DEFINITIONS 36.2.1 Athletic Recruiting. “Athletic recruiting” is any effort by a school employee, athletic department staff member or representative of a school’s athletic interests to pressure, urge or entice a student to attend that school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.   and this . . . 36.2.2 Improper Contact. “Improper contact” is contact, either directly or indirectly, whether in person or through written or electronic communication, by a school employee, athletic department staff member, representative of the school’s athletic interests or third parties, such as an independent person, business or organization, with a student or any member of the student’s family, in an effort to pressure, urge or entice the student to attend a different school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.  See Policy 37.    In fact, if the kid contacts the coach at another school, the coach is not supposed to communicate with the kid other than to refer the kid to the person at the school responsible for admissions.    Best I can tell, there is no exception for being able to reach out to a kid who plays a sport that is not offered by the school that the kid currently attends.  Perhaps there should be . . . but then you'd really be opening Pandora's Box.
    • So you are not allowed to talk to a kid who is not an active football player currently attending a school that doesn’t have a football team?
    • 1.  Ask around and get the kid's phone number. 2.  Call the kid.  3.  If that doesn't work, DM the kid.  4.  Once communications are established, try to convince the kid to come to your school.  There may be other ways, but I think this would be the easiest way to recruit a kid .
    • So, after one very brief reading, it appears that the policy will be as follows:   kids, you can cut an NIL deal, but it can't have anything to do with the school you're at or any school that wants you to come there or anyone associated with any of those schools (i.e., boosters).
