I'm now asking for the second time how a system can become out dated (and now "even more" outdated)?

  • What part of "winning it on the field" is outdated?
  • Why do you get to deem what is or is not "outdated"?

Just because you don't like the answer (that only champions have earned the right to advance) doesn't mean you get to have another answer. The answer is what the answer is...just because you call it names (outdated) doesn't change anything.

Yeah because only district champs are good teams?

Bet west Orange was so much better than apopka

Want to know what score was in playoffs rematch

Apopka won 42-0

So was West Orange a better team because they got lucky in regular season?

Why not just go back another chapter and determine state champs by who the ap poll votes number 1 bc that's totally a guarantee of who's best in state just like 1 game in September determines who was better for the ENTIRE season

...so, I continue to ask for a reason (that's a hard thing to find anymore) why anyone other than district champions should advance to the post season?

Bc one team winning in regular season isn't always the best team the entire season

My way is objective. A win is a win. A loss is a loss. Both have consequences...therefore, there is nothing left to question or interpretation.

Your way is subjective. That's okay. Most of the world is anymore. If folks want a system where they feel their opinion matters more than real life results, that's fine. Just call it what it is.

however ELIMINATING a regular season LOSS is NEVER considering the "entire season"...it's only considering the post-season.

How can you justify a team getting lucky in first game being better for entire season?

Slow down and watch this...you ready?

How can you justify a team getting lucky in the second game being better for the entire season?

Do you realize how many teams out there win district rematches in playoffs after losing in regular season?

Bc at end of day the regular season don't mean nothing

I would trade all the meaningless district championship wins for a state championship any day of the week

The state title is what matters

ColumbiaHighFan2017class, we are going in circles because you're looking at this as an argument...I'm not arguing with you, brother. I'm just saying, if you're looking for fair, the only system is to allow the game to be played and respect the result. There are plenty of systems to allow rematches and second and third chances to folks...

West Orange won by 4 in a mid season game

Apopka won by 42 in November

Which sounds like the clear winner  and who looks like the lucky winner

If you better team you don't get beat 42-0

I would think that a good team will be at their best in November vs September so the November win carries more weight with most people

    • The guy is at a school named American Collegiate Academy. One would think preparing kids to get to college and get a degree is a focal point. And the director himself has yet to get a college degree. How, exactly, can they actually sell themselves as superior to most any school? How do we determine if they have, in fact, done things "properly"? They appear to be operating (like most all charter or private schools) free of much of any oversight.
    • Paul Quinn at Lake City Columbia and Bartow.
    • Clearly Jesuit has the better track record over the last several years. The ONLY explanation for a kid leaving Jesuit for Gaither for football is that Gaither has a coach(es) that are hip and popular with the kids. They look like the flavor of the month. Which, I suppose in these days, is equated with "accomplishment". Barf.
    • OK. The only way Ransom makes Lakeland better is if he brings several other quality players with him. IMO, Mason Martin was their best QB last season. This season, he figures to certainly be better than Ransom. Perhaps equally important in the transfer thread is the fact that Will Bahler took a job on USF's staff. He's been Lakeland's recruiting coordinator for several years, and is thought by many to be a big factor in getting so many transfers to Lakeland the last few years. The vague Twitter rumblings are that Lakeland hasn't fared well in the transfer sweepstakes. Probably a good thing, but one that suggests they won't be loaded like the last couple of seasons.
    • They were a very good, underrated team which did not get much respect outside the Orlando area. They had a decent shot at taking down St. Thomas and in the end came up just short. I understand why the QB threw the ball to Tommi Hill on the final play of the game as he had a hot hand the last two Edgewater drives. But he was double covered so the throw had to be perfect and it was not. If he had looked left instead of right, Edgewater had another decent receiver, who, while not wide open, only had one defender covering him. That would have been a better, more interesting option.
