Teams who merged or split

I posted in another thread about Duval High split into 3 school in 1928. Does anyone know all the teams who merged into one high school, or split into numerous ones? 

Boone and Edgewater split from Orlando High in 1952. What are some more?

Madison High and Greenville High merge to make Madison County in 1981

Crawfordville High and Sopchoppy High merge to make Wakulla County in 1967

Starke high renamed themselves Branford a while back

I also think alachua high became Sante Fe

Cocoa High and Rockledge split from the original Cocoa in 1970.

This list will be very lengthy when you count the schools that merged during integration.

East Gadsden and West Gadsden just recently became Gadsden County.

Yeah and they came from 2 high schools each

Gifford high split and merged with Vero Beach high when the school intergrated

All black Campbell High changed to a 7th grade center and all high school students merged/moved to Daytona Beach Mainland in August of 1969.

All black Chisholm High changed to a 7th grade center ( then to an elementary school ) and all high school students merged/moved to New Smyrna Beach High in August of 1969.

Yeah a lot of black schools did merge or just shut down. Blake and Middleton in Tampa both shut down and then reopened 30 years later. It was very special for the old alumni from the 60's and back.

Century and Ernest Ward merged to make Northview up in Escambia

Like many schools of that era, Mainland High had to go with split sessions to accommodate the influx of students. At that time junior high schools were grades 7-9. So from 1969-1975 Mainland's student class schedule was 11-12 grade; 7am-12pm; 10grade, 12pm-5pm. Split sessions were ended with the building of Port Orange Spruce Creek in 1975.
