Quiz - Name the Panhandle Schools

Most of the larger schools in the Panhandle (Tallahassee and parts west) have had great success historically in the playoffs.  Of the Panhandle schools currently in Classes 3A-8A, only a handful have never made it to a state final or state semifinal.

1. Who are they?

2. Of those schools, which has played the longest without making it to the Final Four?

3. Of those schools, which school has never won a single playoff game?

Nolebull was all over this one

..and the answers are...

Note:  I defined the Panhandle as Tallahassee and parts west

1.Of the Panhandle schools currently in Classes 3A-8A, only a handful have never made it to a state semi/final.  They are:

Arnold

Chiles

Gadsden County (East Gadsden did)

Gulf Breeze

North Bay Haven

Rickards

2. Of those schools, Rickards has played the longest without ever making a semi/final.  Rickards has been around for over 50 years.  They came pretty close in 2016, losing in the regional finals to Ponte Vedra 30-21.

3. The following schools have never won a playoff game:

Chiles

Gadsden County (in their defense, they are new)

Gulf Breeze - Of these 4 schools, Gulf Breeze is the only one that has been around for over 20 years...actually well beyond that

North Bay Haven

Note:  Gulf Breeze is on the rise!  They came very close to winning that elusive first playoff game in each of the last 2 years, losing by less than a touchdown to Crestview and Tate.

You’re correct about Gulf Breeze on all accounts, especially the last part.
