Interesting story. The biggest pro is that 39% of the top 100 actually got a shot at the pros and 20% (20) are still on a roster as of its writing. The biggest warning is the flip side of the pro: A majority of the top 100, 61, never got a shot at the pros. An additional con is that only just over 33% (1/3) got a degree from the institution they signed with. 

The football game is a difficult one. Even the winners face a very uncertain future. You have to ask the question: For a kid with viable options, is it worth it? My answer would be that for, perhaps, 50% of the top 100 it was probably not.

Ironic...here is an example of a fellow who almost made it, but it looks like his back-up plan put him in harm's way ..sad

Yeah, if you get into the drug game, bad things can happen. You have to have a certain kind of personality to succeed doing that. And even if you do, it is Not For Long, even more so than the NFL.
