20 Great FL Players Who Played for Average HS Teams

Below are 20 elite athletes(ie high school All-American quality) who played high school football in Florida in the the 1980's and 1990's. They played for metro-area teams who had limited or no success in the playoffs at the time.  Although some of these teams may be powerhouses now, they were not at the time these players played for them.  So, their individual reputation was earned.  Recruiters "found" these kids even before the days of computers.

There is a very different mindset today.  Many kids desire and/or feel it necessary to play for championship-caliber teams.  I question how much some of today's transferring really benefits the kids in the end run.
