When did Wildwood get their second championship?

I know they won in 1964 but I thought it was their only title win

this actually is a good list to be on unless you are Deerfield Beach with no state titles

I have to agree

Even though there are 26 or more playoff losses for all these teams that means they have made playoffs that many times

Though that is interesting that of all the teams with that many playoff losses DFB  and Tarpon Springs only ones to never win state

I see your point.  As we have added more classes and more playoff teams, it has become much less prestigious to say one made the playoffs "x" number of times.  The list may look a bit different had those changes not taken place.

as an example of my last post...Since 2004, Columbia has won 4 district titles, yet made the playoffs 11 times.  Vero Beach has won 9 district titles, and made the playoffs 13 times.  Some teams on the list have benefited more than others from the changes in playoff structure over the years.

Couldn't argument also be made that STA and Lincoln who have spent the last few cycles in 3 team districts have had a much easier road to winning district and thus playoff appearances than say some of those Tampa schools who may have 7 or 8 teams in their district? Thus harder to win the district

Sure.  Look at this same list from 25 years ago and one could say with a certain level of confidence that the teams on it were super teams, because to make the playoffs, one typically had to win a large district.  Now, we must look beyond the numbers on such a list, because so many more teams makes the playoffs.

Some think playing in large districts is boring and overly restrictive.  It did do one thing much better than today...make teams prove themselves against each other on the field.  To say one was a district champion was a big deal...today, not necessarily.  Coaches from 40 years ago would laugh at someone beating their chest over a team that cannot win its district most years or which routinely wins its district over two other teams.  Yet we have now have teams on this list that are doing just that.

Add Tarpon Springs with 26 losses.
