To clarify, it wasn't the team that had a 20-year hiatus in the finals, it was the city in which the high school resides.  In other words, this city went 20 years without a representative in the finals until the team in question made it.  Sorry if that was not clear.

Orlando Evans, which tied Southridge in 1991, 20 years after Bishop Moore gave Orlando its first state title. If I am right, you are a tricky guy with a wry sense of humor.

And how convenient we now have a video of that Evans game to watch in another post.

To think we went from a time when Orlando area teams rarely appeared in a final to today, when the Orlando area is routinely represented.  Orlando has come a long way in hs football and I think things will only get better in the future.
