  1. Of course, it’ll be on the list.

  2. Perspective, if the hold, which is not a player safety foul, is clearly away from the play and there is no possibility of the defender affecting the play, that should not be a penalty. There is nothing in the rule book that permits or allows an official to "ignore' an action, that is similar to an unwritten rule. However, most good Head Coaches will understand, if not agree with, the fact that a "hold" in that circumstance will not result in a foul. Of course, player safety fouls are to be penalties regardless of where they occur on the field of play or the end zone. Officials usually will tell a Head Coach, Assistant Coaches do NOT need to be speaking to officials, that he/she will watch and keep on eye on holding and other potential fouls in the future. Coaches have every right to question rules interpretations, but not judgment calls on non-player safety fouls like holding.

    Bowl games

Bowl games used to be a big deal in the 1950-1990s, and then poof they were gone. I would love to see them come back again. The oldest bowl game in the country was played in Jacksonville every year. Here is what I have been able to compile over the years from the Meninak Bowk Meninak Bowl 1934: Jax All Stars over St. Pete All Stars 1935: TBD 1936: Columbia 44, Landon 14 1937: Lee 42, St. Pete 0 1938: TBD 1939: TBD 1940: TBD 1941: TBD 1942: TBD 1943: TBD 1944: TBD 1945: Jackson 34, Middletown (CONN) 7 1946: Nashua (NH) 20, Jackson 7 1947: Lee 0, Medford (MASS) 0 1948: TBD 1949: TBD 1950: TBD 1951: Lee 19, Knoxville East (TN) 13 1952: TBD 1953: TBD 1954: Lee 19, Knoxville West (TN) 0 1955: TBD 1956: Lee 7, Central (TN) 6 1957: Lee 14, Central (TN) 0 1958: Central (TN) 21, Lee 7 1959: Lee 19, Central (TN) 7 1960: Lee 35, Parker 21 1961: Lee 14, Lowell (MASS) 0 1962: Central (TN) 28, Lee 12 1963: TBD 1964: TBD 1965: Central (TN) 27, Englewood 7 1966: Biloxi (MS) XX, Paxon XX 1967: Englewood 14, Delray Beach 6 1968: TBD 1969: TBD 1970: Fletcher 20, Columbia 8 1971: Gainesville Xx, Englewood XX ? 1972: Biloxi (MS) 38, Fletcher 21 1973: Leon 28, Forrest 10 1973: Bolles XX, Buchholz XX 1974: Lee 10, Bishop Kenny 6 1975: Lee over TBA 1976: New Smyrna Beach XX, Bolles XX 1977: Ed White 21, Ribault 20 1978: Columbia 42, Raines 32 1979: Leon 21, Ed White 17 1980: Raines 28, Fletcher 14 1981: Choctaw 13, Ed White 10 (OT) 1981: Orange Park 50, Parker 0 1982: Jackson XX, Sandalwood XX 1983: Columbia 35, Ed White 0 1984: TBD 1985: TBD 1986: Ribault XX, Stranahan XX 1987: Columbia 20, Tampa Gaither 10

  4. He can be, how shall I put this, hyperbolic at times. As I am a fan of an 8A team other than Venice, I do show a lot of interest when a team keeps the game close or beats Venice. For that gives me hope that they can be beat. But I certainly don't celebrate their loss. For while I am not a Venice fan, I am no hater of their program. The one time I watched a game there was about five or six years ago when I made the trip to watch them play Braden River for the district championship. I found the place to be a great venue to watch a high school game, and if the commute were shorter, I would likely visit their home field more often.

  5. Just wondering myself, who "YOU GUYS" are that threw a party when Venice loss. I did report the loss on this thread, but was interested to get a take on the game from someone that may have watched it. I also reported our team's loss that same weekend and provided my take on the game. Don't recall see any other members of the forum celebrating Venice's loss.

  9. I'm guessing the line on the game was 105 and the Inglewood coach went for 2 on their last TD to make sure he covered the spread for all their fans who were betting on the game.

  10. I don’t know how the playoff seedlings are gonna wind up , rather we’re going to be @miramar round one or @ ft Lauderdale or homestead or at some at some team up north. but unless ALL of hell freezes over there will be TWO 9-1 Teams coming out of district 7A15 & on a much anticipated collision course to meet again, only this time in a do or die elimination game. how I feel no one in 7A wants to see ST Thomas or Dillard in the playoffs, but this is why we play the game letsss goooo. @VeniceIndiansFootball @SubZero @561_Fan @DarterBlue2 @Jullian

  13. Venice defeated Riverview last night 42-7 in a game that was supposed to be a bitter battle. I love how you guys are so scared that Venice will steamroll 8A that you throw a party at the one loss they suffer. Go Indians!

  14. Burger King had a national playoff several years back called the Burger King Bowl. Several out of state national powerhouses were invited at the time for the playoff. It was interesting but did it really decide a Mythical National Champion. Unless someone builds a football association I don't believe their will ever be a true national champion in High School Football. 15. If you think a 1-9 Eastside team is more playoff worthy then 8-2 Miami Central than you are the one who is talking from a stupid point of view
