I'll tell you what.   If there's anyone out there that doesn't believe that traveling 6 hours or more for a playoff game adversely affects the traveling team's chances of winning, I'll make a blanket bet with you right here and now.   Over the next five years, in each high school football playoff game played in the state of Florida where one team has to travel 6 or more hours to play another team, I'll take the home team and you take the visiting team.  $100 per game.  No, you don't get to pick and choose which one or two games you bet on.  All or nothing.  Who's in?

Travel had nothing to do with Gaither's loss. In warmups you knew they did not have the horses to match up with this years Escambia team. BTW I am no fan of Escambia, but they have a real shot this year.

No I'm not crying at all.   Madison County has a great program and a great man as a head coach.   Lots of good things are done with Madison county football and you are not one of them. You are not a good representation of Madison County.  All you do is try and put teams down.  I'm 100% sure your coach would be embarrassed to be associated with you.  Stop running your mouth about other teams. 

So is your mom but we don’t talk bad about her. Maybe Baker and Blountstown are what 1A teams should be and Madison should be 3A or 4A 

Also, depends on who ranks these kids. Pahokee has multiple kids that should be at least 3 star recruits, but they aren’t. GC has 3 WRs that (9, 3, and 1) but I don’t know if they are. 

Are you really gonna brag about beating up the little 1A schools everybody knows how Madison County gets around the number of kids in the school.

I don't understand Lee is a good team why would escambia have to do anything other than win in the regional finals to maintain or even improve their ranking?

Dillard, Escambia is not going to be an easy road for anyone. They are the product of Bennett gathering up players over the past couple of years. They are very fast, very big and play with a nasty edge. 
As to the hand wringing about the travel panhandle teams have dealt with this for decades. I will tell you like we have been told for years just deal with it.

Edgewater won't beat niceville even if they get by Lincoln. Hell Navarre had trouble staying healthy and had problems with a lack of depth but healthy Edgewater would not beat them either.  Edgewater better have a plan for Lincoln's Clemson commit te/hback he is a real problem for most teams.

I do appreciate your incite and respect you as a coach. However,  The 2010 team was loaded. Maybe the best team that Marion County ever produced and obviously the best team in 3A. We had Jeremiaha Gates who was a complete athlete. If and when Little didn't play Gates took over and there was practically no difference noticed. Gates could have played QB on any other team in Florida although he was primarily an outstanding RB. Went on to be a star at Jacksonville University. WR Kadron Boone. Practically unstoppable. And I mean that literally. Star at LSU and the New York Giants. I don't believe any team was going to defeat the 2010 Celtics, regardless. That being said, Little made the job a heck of a lot easier as he was born to play QB. Once again, if a team cannot make it with homegrown talent then they should not be able to import from everywhere to manufacture a fake team where many of the players don't represent the community nor care anything about the community. Also, how many players that transfer in transfer out within a year? I would sure like to know.

A am pretty sure Lincoln - Niceville not happening was money related. Visiting gate much larger with panhandle  teams. The Niceville crowd is showing up no matter what.

Madison though is playing 4 dimensional chess while the rest of us are playing checkers. The use of the charter school to siphon enough students away to lower their population numbers is darn near criminal in my opinion. If Madison played in the classification that their numbers are this wouldn't be an issue. As for Pahokee, they are who we thought they are. They couldn't even beat Hawthorne last year. 

Imagine if every school could do this. Take every kid who could care so little about sports, band, cheerleading and put them in their own school and your population numbers is only kids who want to play sports, cheer, dance, do band, or just come to games. All of a sudden, we might get very different classifications.

If I were made ruler of high school sports I would not have the championship at a central site. All we have accomplished is having two visiting crowds. It has proven to be a financial loser and in our situation it does not sell the sport of football. We have made it where young kids are not being taken to these games. For most in the state they are simply too far away. Attending one of these games with 10k plus in the stands can be a life changing event for a ten year old boy, imho. Sure it is not fair to alternate every year, but no other method is any better. Rankings are fun but there purpose is to spark interest not decide home field advantage. I think you would have teams decide to play at some other local venue if the schools facilities  were not adequate to host the event.
There have been those in this thread that cite the NBA and NFL models are we really that dumb. They have to manage around thirty teams that all have immense  resources. The teams are the ultimate all star teams. Made up of freaks of nature. That is not HS sports. We losing the sense of community and are blindly walking down the road to the demise of something I love. 
I know that most say there is nothing that can be done, but for the sport Fix The Transfer Issue. The assembly of all star teams and allowing them to compete against HS teams is making sports at much of the state irrelevant.

If you want to know why Armwood does not show up well to state finals (attendance) its because they have no real local fan base... All the kids are basically commuters.

Hey Columbia you want to know why those football coaches tire of you? It's because you are f'ING clueless. No one said publics don't recruit. Your intellectual dishonesty makes folks not respect you. Google red herring. I don't understand your defending of privates. The coaches likely think your a dumba $$ with the way you defend them. Honestly you can't fix the publics without getting rid of the privates.

No I don't think that is true. There are a bunch of coaches, ads, principals and county administrators that know this is true. It will take smart people really setting their individual interest aside for the good of the sport.
