He did it simply to piss you off. As you have clearly demonstrated. Haha.

There are two advantages (along with some disadvantages): 1) Easier to keep players healthy in what could be a marathon, 15 game season. 2) Easier to conceal both effective schemes you might employ later as well as to conceal weak points on your team.

    Again. Never quit.
If you practice quitting, then it has a negative affect on the program.
Lakeland was the better team, clearly, but I think Weiner and gang were using this a lesson to the kids coming back that you have to fight to the very end of every game.

haha. By three+ scores I mean that absolutely no combination of two scores evens the game. Including two TDs and two two-point conversions.

Lakeland blew leads in '16 and '17 by overcoaching, Naught this year!
Castle just lined up and punched him in the mouth and there was nothing he could do about, other than the "fake" injury after every play nonsense.

I can forgive a questionable judgement call (like the 2pt conversion we had against Trinity back in September)

    That was a honest mistake

But 2 things really boil my skin,  bias and incompetence

    Strike 1: Bias

Earlier this year we played Bartram Trail in softball first round of playoffs and they had a jacksonville area officials association for the game and had numerous blown calls,  all of them favoring Bartram Trail, if it had been officials from Orlando for example i wouldn't have cared but the fact it was a Jacksonville area officials that makes the idea of bias very credible argument but then we come to this

Strike 2: it's one thing to have a judgement call but how in hell does the officials not know how to count and even the coaches pointed out the error,  every media personnel at the game had it right and even the coaches had it right but somehow the refs can't keep track of what down it is??

And I don't want to hear if you don't like what they doing then go become a official bull crap, they are refs for a playoff game that kind of mess up is not acceptable for a playoff game

A playoff game shouldn't be remembered for the officials, the fact it was is a embarrassment to the state and action needs to be taken

Btw they have a ref in the booth for play clock so why is it that there was no communication between the official in the booth with the reporters who could have pointed out the error and the officials on the ground level??

Well, this is all good to hear. I will agree about fans bitching about officials. It's like politicians bitching about the media. A lot of it is just sour grapes over being called out for something they don't like.
But, I have seen some genuinely horrific calls made over the years. Calls made that simply do not even align with the rule book. Some that even helped my team, like last year when a WR completed a pass for 50+ yards to an offensive guard on a broken play that was allowed to stand. And of course the three downs crap with Columbia. It's one thing to have some subjective calls that are iffy. Some officials have better/different judgment than others, but that's the game of life. But blatant violations of the most basic rules of the game can't be a part of playoffs.

Sometimes it's a great idea to get out and find a new place! Funny tidbit: My very last day in Florida as I was leaving to move away for good ended with me watching Lakeland beat Columbia in Lake City in the 2001 KOC. I drove away from the stadium after the game, hit I-10 west and haven't looked back since! (Other than still following HS football haha).

Ehh it doesn't matter, I'm tired of defending them when several people up there want to always have a attitude with me

I decided I'll start spending my energy where it's actually appreciated instead of using it for people who don't see me as anything of value, spent hours upon hours for 3 years out there and moment I graduated the people out there started making it clear I wasn't welcome out there

Not to mention I'm done trying to convince a fanbase to step up  when they are too selfish to support the team and want to bail on them the first time things aren't going perfect like when the crowd walked out in 3rd quarter this past Friday

Also tired of being in a city with people who have given up making a effort to move to the future and are too busy trying to push their biased agenda, I need a fresh start where I can get away from this place because living in Lake City has turned into a cancer

In each of the five games, Plant held Lakeland's offense mostly in check. Last season was the only time Lakeland had any sort of sustained success running the ball, with Demarkcus Bowman going over 180 yards on 18 carries. But, Plant still managed to pull out a 13-10 victory.  My best guess as to why this is the case is Weiner cooks up some great game plans, either through complexity or deception, and Castle manages his QBs too tightly, usually not letting them check out of bad plays. Below is a really interesting interview with Weiner.

Football folks tend to be control freaks. They want to "get it right", and they're convinced that they themselves are always right. It's why you see every other play in the college game stopped for review, even though 9 times out of 10 the conclusion to be drawn is "I can see it either way". And it's why everyone always bitches about how to run the postseason. Fact is, in most cases, there is no way to subjectively get it 100% correct, 100% of the time. Strength of schedule in high school football is much harder and much closer to impossible to evaluate then most care to admit.

Schools and/or the FHSAA should make it possible for fans to chip in towards the fee for broadcast rights. Schools could sell online viewing "tickets" for $10 and people like me could purchase to gain viewing access. My guess is that, with the entirety of the world being the possible marketplace, schools could sell 50 such tickets, which would cover the $500 fee. Or, if they sold, say, 25 tickets, that would wipe out $250 of the fee and then a sponsor could cover the rest. This should be pretty basic stuff. I just see a bunch of old geezers sitting around without a clue on this. If no one sponsor comes forward with $500, the rest of us just get stuck not able to watch the games.
I'm most interested in Lakeland games. So, take this week's Plant game. As is the case every week, nothing is announced with regards to whether the game will be streamed. So, we have no clue as to whether there will be a broadcast. People like me (living in California) are unable to do anything to support the webcast. I don't have a business I'd want to run ads for, so a sponsorship would be ridiculous. As would paying $500 lol. But, if there was an obvious link made available, people like me, people living in Tampa who wouldn't be able to make the drive to Lakeland etc would have the option to chip in $10 to towards streaming the game. Maybe, just maybe, in time this could even turn into a profit-making venture??
But this is all probably too hard for the geezers

Would be great for TV ratings. But I think more computer rankings should be used for the seeding. Would make for great TV too. You could project all of the data points, maybe have a showcase of the computer programs used, introduce the engineers who developed the computer program, interview them. All kids of things! And then maybe, if there's time, you could maybe even show some football.

I still prefer rock paper scissors competition to determine seeding.  Each team send a team captain to Gainesville  and we could broadcast it on Sunday and make a TV event of it

I can’t see Castle doing that. It’s going to be a heavy dose of #3 with some QB option. If they can hit a few passes to Zipperer, that will open it up even more.
As I’ve said more times than I care to remember.........with Lakeland, it all comes down to discipline. If the players can keep their heads, they’ll be fine. If they lose their heads, it could be a long night.

For Lakeland's sake, the play-calling had better lean towards the guy that averaged 10 yards a carry last year as a sophomore vs Plant.   I don't think Plant can consistently stop Bowman if Lakeland goes under center and brings the TEs inside. At least not without making for some easy deep balls vs. single coverage. But Plant can and will stop Lakeland if they get cute and bring too large of a playbook that the kids aren't able to execute sharply. I sense Castle takes the mental end of things personally and wants to outsmart Weiner. Bad idea IMO. They need to simplify things and take advantage of their physical advantages.

Absolutely miserable game to watch. Dreadful. Waste of time where the only thing of note that could have happened was someone gets tossed and misses the next game.
We can only hope the offensive gameplan was designed to throw Plant off. If they take the same approach vs. Plant, they'll have the same type of showing they've had against Plant the last two years. Stop with all of the cute sh*t and get under center and pound the ball.
