MCC beats CCC in NINE overtimes

This was by FAR the best game I've ever watched. MCC won the game fair and square. CCC was up 21-7 about to go up 28-7 at the half; however, MCC had a great goal line stand. MCC dominated the 2nd half as they were able to shutdown all of the Marauder athletes. The overtimes were just each team slugging away at each other, superstar for superstar.  In the end, CCC had a 4th and 1, and CCC"s CJ Cotman took an end around and came up inches short of the goal line to give MCC the win.

MCC advances and won fair and square; however, as others have said on social media- there weren't any losers tonight. Both teams will remember this game for ever and this will go down as one of the most epic football games ever. I'm really glad it was streamed online.

I was there  It was  a great game, a true classic , MCC Came back  from being down 21-0 to score 21 unanswered to put the game into OT.  The MCC Defense played Lights out  in the 2nd half and really shut down the Fire Power of CCC . The Overtime was truly insane  Defensive stops, Blocked kicks  Tough runs and  acrobatic catches. But In the end(9th OT) it was a 4th and 1 CCC needing to score that the MCC Defense came up with a stop on the 1 yard line right next to the end zone pylon.  This MCC may not be a big team but they are loaded with some very athletic kids at all positions . CCC is a big team  but MCC athleticism  is what won it for them, as those big Hogs at CCC were gassed at the end .

It was a truly unbelievable, the resolve of both teams to not quit  say volumes about the coaching Staff . Both teams deserved to win It was Just MCCs Luck and desire  that won the day .

That is why people like myself and others coach this great sport. Fatigue can make a coward of us all, but these athletes overcame that and played as a team.  TRUE GRIT is the only words I can say that makes this sound reasonable to the average person.

The stories coming out about this game are nothing short of tear worthy and passion.  I didn't see it from the live stream; however, apparently after the 3rd OT and the teams knew they were going to be in it for the long haul- the teams started helping each other stretch when they cramped. When a player went down, the other team picked him up and dropped him off with the athletic trainers. When a player fell down, the other team helped him up.  I also just read that the MCC fans after cheering for their team after the win, made a tunnel of respect and clapped and cheered CCC on as they got back on the bus. The MCC fans were hugging and giving high 5's to the CCC players and coaching staff.

As a mother of 2, if my boy played his last ever football game- that would be such an amazing way to go out. I can't overstate the kudos between both programs. Hard not to root for MCC next week. Both programs just picked up a ton of fans state and nation wide.

    • I agree with you on everything you said. Why play these powerhouses and get the butt kicked out of you. Yes you're not running away from good opponents, however what does a 63-0 loss due to the morale of a bunch of young men.
    • Welcome to the new wonderful wild west of high school football in Florida. We need to create a new position at each school. Recruiting coordinator. Because that is the only way to win big in this state now at the highest levels. The haves can turn into have not by losing one cheater coach.
    • There are zero coaches on campus, every single coach left
    • There is 1,750 kids in the school. That would be their fault if they can’t field a team of 40-50 players. I know it sucks about the mass exodus. I get it. But even though they won’t be competitive for the time being they should at least have enough varsity players returning, JV kids, and newcomers to field a team.    They should have had an assist at coach resume spring workouts, and maybe got in on a jamboree with lesser teams or held an inter squad scrimmage. But to cancel everything seems a bit erratic
    • From 2018-2021 when Dillard was one of the top 5 teams in broward we got there because on the beginning we schedule within our actual talent on the field, we showed success that we are atleast a avg program being able to take care of business against avg and below avg teams. And with the right personnel we can become above avg and actually contend.    and with that came a undefeated regular season in 2019 with a regional final birth, a undefeated COVID season in 2020 and a Fri county championship and a 1 loss season in 2021 and a second round exit on the road to homestead.    dillard has to get back to that. But scheduling central, chaminade , sta and etc of back dropping each game by 40 is not gonna help the program.    you can say “aye atleast we scheduled them we didn’t back down” like I’ve said several times on here lol. but there’s no moral victories in football. You either won or you lost.
