I read that Mater Dei and Miami Northwestern might be a matchup in 2025. I know this is about Manatee but any thoughts y'all.

Northwestern, from what I gather, has been loading up on transfers, especially from Booker T, which lost its long time head coach. But, it remains to be seen how good they'll be relative to what they had and what they lost. They do figure to be the best team in Dade county, and possibly the best in the entire state. But, I think STA may be the ones getting MD. Also heard rumblings STA is headed to London to play the NFL Academy team. All subject to change until announced publicly.

I think something is going on at Booker T. Washington. They didn't have a marching band 2024 season and now the football coach is leaving. Also you're right about the talent coming in. I hope Northwestern can play top school if Mater Dei is off the table. Some of these might be good to see.

Bishop Gorman

Buford

Desoto

Duncanville

St. Francis Academy

St. John Bosco

Mater Dei is heading to play STA from what I hear. Crazy thing is STA was scheduled to play Milton GA and then ESPN came in and said they will televise it if they boot Milton out and put MD in. And the Broward event said SAY LESS!!! Lol.

So maybe MNW can play Milton. Only issue is the Broward event gave a good travel stipend so I don’t know where MNW would get the money to help unless a sponsor came through

Well they can drive to Georgia/Florida or vise versa. Isn't it like a 10 hour drive.

Lowndes dominated them in all aspects of the game.

Lowndes had one sustained drive the entire game......3 plays decided the outcome of this game. One on a turnover deep in Manatee territory on a muffed jet sweep handoff, the other 2 on Manatee defensive miscues on player reads and resulting reactions. The bigger read on the Lowndes game, was Lowndes getting blown out in the 2nd round of the Georgia playoffs  by Buford 42-7 in as far as how good Lowndes actually was.

Lowndes getting blown out makes Manatee losing even worse.

And no 3 plays didn’t decide the game. The fact that they couldn’t put more than 2 scores on the board the entire game and Lowndes could was the difference. They got outplayed, out coached, out worked, and whatever else words you want to use to describe a double up beat down

The point is Manatee got worked by Lowndes. A team who would get killed by SJB.

Manatee coach is putting this embarrassing loss on his kids to carry with them forever. They will always remember getting their skirt lifted in front of the home crowd by a national powerhouse and not understand why their coach did that to them. They are a depleted roster. The game will be ugly: and the SJB coach will not call the dogs off: they scored 70 on some chump Texas team last year

Is this a different school than Don Bosco ?

LOL. St. John Bosco is the second-most powerful football program in the country, behind their rival Mater Dei. Both of which are in southern California. Don Bosco is from New Jersey, and is far inferior most seasons to SJB.

Manatee will get killed by both out of state teams and then beat all the duds they play in state. I wish teams in Florida would schedule OOS games they have a shot in. Good, even competition. Almost every single game listed so far this year has the FL team as a heavy underdog.

I know this is true for both teams but I think sometimes it would benefit the Florida teams more if games were played on the back end of the season.  It would make for more competitive contests because the Florida teams have more room to improve IMO.  Criticize away.
