BTW started slow and Richardson threw too many untimely picks and their oline killed them .. There was a DE that was killing BTW... Columbus is the same ol Columbus.. Play smart , don’t make mistakes and played a bend but don’t break d.. That was a good win for them...

After watching BTW early in the season vs AHP and even against Edison... They don't strike me as elite right now. They're pretty good. And they'll win some playoff games but idk what will happen if and when they get to Cocoa.

Some on here (including myself) have picked cocoa as the clear favorite in 4a this year and while BTW is capable of winning if i had to pick right now i would go cocoa as a slight favorite

I agree that BTW is not as strong as past years, but I am pleasantly surprised with the way Columbus has been playing since the NW game. That said, Columbus clobbered BTW a few years back and then BTW went on to the 4a championship anyway. They play emotional - Columbus plays disciplined. This BTW team could still take down Cocoa from what I saw of them.

Im chalking this BTW win up to Columbus stepping up (with home field advantage) , and BtW playing inconsistent. Don't read too much into BTW, they still a very talented team.

Columbus is dismantling Lake Gibson right now even though this is their third game in 9 days.

Columbus to pull out a 3-0 record in that 3 game set in 9 days (Miami High, BTW and Lake Gibson ) just exemplifies exactly what you are talking about with Columbus - disciplined.  Not many teams go 3-0 in that set in the entire state.

I don't think you can find 10 others who go 3-0 with that stretch

I'm impressed

If I'm not mistaken this roster is young and not even in the same stratosphere as rosters of recent years.  Columbus rarely loses to teams on their level or less, and sometimes beat better teams.  This trend has continued for years under HC Chris Merritt.  I'm impressed but not overly stunned with what Columbus has going right now.  Not sure if this will be the year, but I'm fairly confident Columbus will be back in Orlando over the next few years....

well the 8a south has a few teams that aren't as high in polls like previous years but have maybe 20 or so teams who in the 26-130 range in state

    • When you right you right fam. At the end of the day. Anybody in dade, broward or palm beach know bout Dillard and know we don’t duck no team home or away. We down to line up any day.    but none of that puts points on the score board or guarantee victory. You can be ready and confident all you want, but if your team doesn’t have the personnel to match a national power house who gets in loads of transfers year and year out, 9/10 that score is going to be fairly lopsided.    and as much as I bleed Dillard day and night, and as much as it pains me to say. Dillard is not in Miami central, norland, sta, or chaminades league going into the this upcoming season. Let them beat up on each other.    I believe this is a perfect schedule for Dillard if they’re atleast still an above avg program they should win this district with ease and have no more then 2 loses this year.    if not and they struggle even with this schedule then Dillard as a program is most def going backwards and I would hate that for my Alma mater.
    • I agree with you on everything you said. Why play these powerhouses and get the butt kicked out of you. Yes you're not running away from good opponents, however what does a 63-0 loss due to the morale of a bunch of young men.
    • Welcome to the new wonderful wild west of high school football in Florida. We need to create a new position at each school. Recruiting coordinator. Because that is the only way to win big in this state now at the highest levels. The haves can turn into have not by losing one cheater coach.
    • There are zero coaches on campus, every single coach left
    • There is 1,750 kids in the school. That would be their fault if they can’t field a team of 40-50 players. I know it sucks about the mass exodus. I get it. But even though they won’t be competitive for the time being they should at least have enough varsity players returning, JV kids, and newcomers to field a team.    They should have had an assist at coach resume spring workouts, and maybe got in on a jamboree with lesser teams or held an inter squad scrimmage. But to cancel everything seems a bit erratic
