Sounds like a competitive game

The first half was. The question is:will Dillard fold in the second half as they have done against some of the better teams they have played this season? If they don't that would be a step in the right direction for Dillard as the playoffs loom.

Wow what a game Dillard really played a first half to remember Dillard game out the gate on fire took the lead 6-0 late first quarter gibbons kicked a fg and made it 6-3 it remained that way for most of the second quarter with Dillard getting into gibbons 15 yd lines twice but came up empty.

30 seconds left in the 2nd qt gibbons scored to make it 10-6 and that was the halftime score.

3rd quarter started Dillard got the ball to gibbons 29 but a horrible penalty called the play back Dillard punted after that gibbons started rolling with some adjustments made by their coaching staff but Dillard was giving them all they could handle we made them kick 3 field goals & we gave up a safety.

Overall Gibbons won the game But you can tell in the first half they was shocked at the type of game Dillard was giving them.

final Gibbons 36 Dillard 6 but the game was so much closer it was as if Dillard was so hyped for this game they showed again they can play with the best.

@DarterBlue2 to answer Your question Dillard Didn’t fold in the second half in a fact the Refs were Horrible all night it was almost like we were at gibbons Gibbons Defense Held All night && their Corners Couldn’t Not && I repeat Could not Cover our Wr Bryce Oliver From the Opening past to games end so they P.i all night and it was so blatant the crowd went into a Uproar Dillard did a lot of things on offense tonight we had not seen especially going deep and on 1 play that was a Td was Called back Cuz they said it wasn’t a Td when it was clear he Caught it @ColumbiaHighFan2017class Which is why I said we need play review in high school football ..that was a huge momentum killer that would have made the score 13-17 then on the very next possession after our defense got a 3 and out we had a 60 yard bomb to gibbons 3 yard line and their Cb Pushed Bryce down because he was Beat ...No call ..Overall gibbons made adjustments as u knew the number 2 team in Florida would But for us to be Leading after quarter 1 (Shocker) I predicted 49-0 gibbons after laeading for 9:54 min in the second quarter 6-3 and only trailing 10-6 at the half vs the #2 team in the state and were not even ranked !?! What does that say about Dillard ?!? @DarterBlue2 @badbird @Joshua Wilson @Floridatechfootball Everybody called blow out from the opening clock but we gave gibbons all they can handle and then some. We forced 3 field goals where they had to kick it from our 40 which I feel is a win for our defense because how many kickers can kick from that distance ?? All I can say is Dillard Showed last night that only are they a top 60 team in Florida but they are A Solid Team as the year has went on Dillard Has gotten better Tremendously from beginning of season to now u can see it.

My spread was 36 points (49-13). The final was 30 points (36-6). Dillard did play a great first half. But in the second half, they did not score again. I am not going to argue over the officiating as I was not there. But Dillard's failure to score in the second half continues a pattern against good teams. My feeling is that in the playoffs, Dillard keeps it close against their 6A, 16 opponent for a half and then lets the game get away in the second half.

Hope I am wrong as I would like Dillard to win a few playoff games. But the burden is on Dillard to show they can play a complete game against great competition.

We Go As Far as Coaching Takes us @DarterBlue2 gibbons is the number 2 in the state and nationally ranked you have to have some serious coaching to compete for 4 quarters or dare I say win ...they dismantled everybody they played this year besides Ahp teams that are ranked much much higher then Dillard Like Southridge American Heritage Delray & etc they had what 4+ shutouts this season this team is the real deal so if we’re talking about competing for 4 quarters do Dillard have the Overall Team to compete with the NATIONAL RANKED powers of South Florida for 4 quarters ?? No we don’t Many say we don’t even belong on the same field but time and time again we hold our own vs the national greats but once adjustments are made and coaching plays a factor as the other coaching staff starts to switch somethings up and move players around the game pulls away but to Lead this game as long as We did Dillard Should have impressed a lot of people on here becuse even ahp struggled with Gibbons but their national ranked talent and coaching was able to over come and still come out on top.

    • In a single word, "no." In a lot more words, see the following: (From 2023-24 FHSAA Handbook) 36.2 GENERAL DEFINITIONS 36.2.1 Athletic Recruiting. “Athletic recruiting” is any effort by a school employee, athletic department staff member or representative of a school’s athletic interests to pressure, urge or entice a student to attend that school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.   and this . . . 36.2.2 Improper Contact. “Improper contact” is contact, either directly or indirectly, whether in person or through written or electronic communication, by a school employee, athletic department staff member, representative of the school’s athletic interests or third parties, such as an independent person, business or organization, with a student or any member of the student’s family, in an effort to pressure, urge or entice the student to attend a different school for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics.  See Policy 37.    In fact, if the kid contacts the coach at another school, the coach is not supposed to communicate with the kid other than to refer the kid to the person at the school responsible for admissions.    Best I can tell, there is no exception for being able to reach out to a kid who plays a sport that is not offered by the school that the kid currently attends.  Perhaps there should be . . . but then you'd really be opening Pandora's Box.
    • So you are not allowed to talk to a kid who is not an active football player currently attending a school that doesn’t have a football team?
    • 1.  Ask around and get the kid's phone number. 2.  Call the kid.  3.  If that doesn't work, DM the kid.  4.  Once communications are established, try to convince the kid to come to your school.  There may be other ways, but I think this would be the easiest way to recruit a kid .
    • So, after one very brief reading, it appears that the policy will be as follows:   kids, you can cut an NIL deal, but it can't have anything to do with the school you're at or any school that wants you to come there or anyone associated with any of those schools (i.e., boosters).
