New Coach in Tampa Area-Recipe for Failure?

Are scenarios like this becoming more common?  Is this new, young coach set up for failure?  Will the coaching merry-go-round continue?  

St Pete Gibbs recently announced Ja'Vonta Trotter would replace Antonio Knox as head coach. Trotter, 28, is a 2008 Boca Ciega grad who played wide receiver at Murray State. Because Knox resigned so soon before preseason practices began, Gibbs had to scramble to find qualified applicants. Gibbs has not had much success lately. The Gladiators were 2-8 last season. Their last winning season was in 2015, when they were 6-5 under Jon Thompson.  Gibbs plays a tough non-district schedule against perennial powers Charlotte, Lakeland and Lake Gibson.  Trotter will be Gibbs' sixth head coach since 2008. This will be Trotter's first head coaching job.

Obviously he knows what he is taking on and I don't mean to sound critical of him or the school hiring him.  What strikes me is that Florida has arguably the best hs football in the country and we don't seem to have enough seasoned coaches to go around to take on difficult situations such as these.  In this case, the school did not feel there was anyone on the staff ready to take on the role of hc.

If a student struggles with basic math why would they be taking calculus? Gibbs shouldn't be playing Lakeland; they probably shouldn't be playing Tampa Catholic, Lake Gibson or Charlotte either.  Unfortunately coach Trotter got stuck with this schedule.  Hopefully the administration will take that into account.

Gibbs is a tough job.  They really have not had any success since Yusef Shakir was the coach.  Abraham had a solid season, but once the Shakir affect was over they were down again.  There is plenty of talent in the building, but keeping that ship moving forward has proven to be hard.  It will take someone that understands S St Pete, and loves the community to have success there.

Coaches don’t get paid much here so they go elsewhere. So the quality of coach is way down in Florida.

Not true, there are plenty of great coaches in Florida, that is the reason that Florida coaches are in high demand in other states.  Are there plenty of programs that could use better coaching, of course, but thats everywhere.

but finding a good staff of 7-9 is almost impossible. One good coach can't do it all by himself
