  1. When a team runs one coverage and you got good athletes, it’s not hard to figure out how to beat it.

  2. Lakewood Ranch snapped a 15 game losing streak by beating Lemon Bay 19-9, first win since 2017. Bartow snapped a 13 game losing streak by beating Haines City 35-14, first win since 2017. Lake Region snapped a 21 game losing streak by beating Santa Fe Catholic 56-29, first win since 2016. Bartow and Lake Region play next week, so at least one of them gets 2 in a row!

  3. ITS GAME DAY!! rain or shine otis gray memorial stadium will be rocking. Two above avg solid teams are going head to head tonight. Both teams feed off their defense and off of fast starts. After breaking down film miramar looks relatively avg to below avg on the offensive side but very aggressive on the defensive side; i said earlier this game is a toss up and based off just rankings dillard winning this game would be looked at as a "UPSET" nonetheless i just want to see a well faught injury free game and may the best team win.

  4. Plenty to see on that film for both teams, good and bad.

  5. Listen I was just giving you examples of why Central is talked about more nationally. Doesn't mean it's at all true. Central has been going OOS for a while now (MNW basically started it all in 07). MNW just isn't as consistent IMO. Trust me man I'd love to see MNW dominate.

  7. Hopefully weather is good. Central has a decent oline, really good rbs, and a ok defense. Qb is ok. Not sure with BTW has. They lost some players but still has alot of talent and will always play hard so it should be a good game. Line play will be difference in the game as I'm not sure how big BTW dline is and if they can handle the rockets oline.

  8. I heard they would potentially be down MNW looks very good right now so they may prove to be better than I was expecting based on the info I gathered CG and Carol City i am convinced is down from last year however though it wasn't simply because they were beat by MNW However Cardinal Gibbons being beat the way they were by MNW (basically blown out) did support my feelings based on what I gathered from sources

  9. they played good enough vs West Orange (KOC) and Edgewater week 1 to deserve to be there. They might not be top 10 at the end of the year but I can't name 10 schools in Central Florida that would have beat West Orange (real game they win) and lose by less than 7 to Edgewater

  10. I agree with you 100%, but I have always enjoyed HS football in its purest form. We're not seeing that now, and I'm afraid it will result in HS football's eventual demise. And, yes it is dude.

  11. I see you guys have a good kicking game this year. With that, a great defense and a maturing offense as the season progresses you will be a favorite to win another state title this year.

  12. I wouldn't say Cardinal Gibbons or Carol city were "overrated" Just that both teams were getting pushed a little too high in some Polls Carol city is clear cut top 10 in FL IMO but they aren't as good as last year Cardinal Gibbons a solid team as well but not as strong as last year

  13. The senior qb is not getting it done and fans are getting frustrated.. I understand what the coaches are doing but writing is on the wall the freshman Taron (Tyger)Dickens is special. They usually play the senior first and offense is stagnant. Freshman comes in and offense clicks. Had a drop td, td called back, and freshman qb didn't get in into second qtr. However once he gets in he finishes the game last night and against Gibbons. At half last week (gibbons)it was 13-0 last week points coming off pick 6 and blk punt. Dickens gets in and offense score 19 points second half. Oh and way too many penalties. When NW cleans all of that up look out.

  14. Shut down. That defense is special.

  15. Sure they could. But even in "down" years those teams are reasonably good, right? Topnotch said the "Game was not as close as score indicates." concerning NW's win over CC. I am impressed by anyone who dominates any CC team.

  20. 365 years? Damn, that's a little harsh, don't you think?

  21. Now, to be fair, I think similar lists need to be compiled for several other schools as well. Armwood, Edgewater, the Dade county powers etc. The acquisition of a lot of transfers is not unique to Lakeland. It is part of a trend (not a good one, IMO) that is pervasive across the country. The trend, most everywhere it seems, is for star players to merge and super teams to be built. Lakeland appears to have done arguably the "best" job of it this year. But, this kind of thing has been happening, in Dade especially, for several years. It's a bit easier to track now with hudl and twitter accounts that update on such matters.

  22. For some perspective, here's some information related to Lakeland's 2006 state championship team. There were a couple of kids who saw regular playing time during the 06 season who were not on the roster in 05. One appears to have been at Lakeland his whole career. Am not sure about the other. As best I can tell, all of the remaining, regular starters on that 06 team were at Lakeland in 05 and did not transfer in for the 06 season. Michael Pouncey, Maurkice Pouncey, Paul Wilson, Ahmad Black, Jamar Taylor, Chris Rainey, Steve Wilks, Jordan Hammond, and John Brown were the big name seniors on that Lakeland team. All of them got D-1 scholarships, and none of them transferred into Lakeland for the 06 season. They were there in 05, if not before.

  23. Good thing you can just rely on transfers in today’s age. I don’t think Castle is going out and recruiting, I just think he’s run such a great program that guys are transferring in. That’s Florida football.
