This is only the third season Wekiva has had a sold team. Given the staff they have there, if they remain good, and there is some indication they will, I would expect them to schedule tough out of area games going forward. The district only has four teams with them, Apopka, West Orange and Evans. So they certainly have some flexibility in their schedule. 

I was in Ft Myers in the early 2000s, every year if we made the playoffs, we matched up with Edison.  Riverdale, the school just west of us would match up with Glades Central.  Needless to say, that is where our playoff runs would end.  Dade is different and anyone that says different hasn't had to routinely play those schools.  They are not usually going to wow you with a bunch of colorful stuff, they are going to be disciplined, physical, athletic, and coached up to their schemes.  Central, Northwestern, Carol City, Southridge, South Dade, Coral Gables, ETC do not have to run super exotic stuff to beat you.  They physically destroy their opponents every rep.

All good teams have off days...just ask Armwood about that first game...the difference between good and possibly great teams is overcoming adversity when you don’t have your A game....Pahokee is a really good team with good fan base and home field advantage...Vero is a good team but some people act like they defending state champs or something...that hasn’t happened since the early 80s...it was a good hard fought  victory against a good opponent on the road when not playing your best football

While is doesn’t have the state appeal of the above games, there is also Vero Beach(5-0) at Centennial(5-0.) 
This 8AD8 matchup will show if the Eagles are for for real or not, Vero won 30-3 last season. 

...not at all.  Chaminade's a fine team.  The "problem" is that some all-classification pollsters build them up and create unrealistic expectations for the kids.  Without all of the poll hype, some would we saying "wow, a 3A team hung with an 8A school." 
 
  

What you talking bout? The game was not full? That’s funny it was standing room only and I came in at the second qt and ppl was still lined up out side with ppl out side the gate that didn’t even enter... This game should of been at Lockhart cause you know STA ain’t coming to traz..

Central side was packed to the max and st Thomas side eventually got there ..but in the mid first qt st Thomas still had a lot of empty seats on their side and I even said dam because I was surprised. Maybe cuz the lines was so backed up and they only had limited people working the ticket booth.
i guess what @OldSchoolLion is trying to say is at games like here in Texas and etc big games at that crowds in the thousands are their filling up the stands hours before the student section and band is in place ready to go before 6:30pm and etc.

Not that it makes a difference in the 3A race, but it appears that Chaminade got literally run over tonight by a big AHP line and a bruising rb.  Two rb's each gained 100 or more yards.  They simply do not have the size on their D.  

So, instead of making the Apopka game last night, I went to Lyman vs Lake Mary. The decision was driven by two factors:
1. For the past seven weeks, I have been working on a project that's been brutal in terms of the hours, particularly the past two weeks. It so happens that the project is less than ten minutes away from Lyman High School, so it was convenient to just go there after leaving work at 6:15 rather than make the long drive from there to Boone.
2. After Bad Bird mentioned that Lake Mary was starting a true Freshman QB, I had taken a look at Gunnar's Huddle highlights and I liked what I saw.
Well, while Lake Mary overall struggled to beat Lyman, and did not impress me very much, Gunnar certainly did. This kid seems to have been groomed from he was in the womb to be a QB. How else can you explain his first name? As a true freshman, he is tall and slender, but has a rocket arm and a very quick release. What impressed me most about him, though, was not just his arm strength, but his ability to vary his throws. The kid knows when to toss the nice easy, floater, is able to to put the ball into positions where only his receiver can get it, he just seems to know stuff that many a senior QB does not. 
He has been obviously well schooled, but clearly has been an outstanding student. Assuming, he puts on 20 pounds or more, grows another inch or two, and continues to make normal improvement, this kid is destined to be a four or five star, pro-style QB recruit, with multiple offers, including many from the major college powers.

Watching this game from start to finish all I can say is wow!!! MC WENT INTO STA and punched STA in the mouth hard! Yea Sta made some plays here and there but MC was clearly the aggressor and the BETTER TEAM!!! 
For years because of the strong dislike of dade vs broward I tried to convince myself dade and broward football was even but after seeing tonight it’s not even close.
dade has this certain swag to them that I can only wish the Broward County teams had in Dade County they don’t give a dam about a star rating or how many d1 players u got in their eyes u bleed like them u sweat like them so they don’t fear NO ONE!! something broward once had in the 90s.
OVERALL great game but sta in my opinion got exposed tonight I picked them to win but hoped that MC beat em but man oh man oh man MC is no joke and the sad part is they might not even be the best team in their own district which is SCARY AS HELL.!!! if that Mc Carol city game isn’t live streamed or nationally televised it will be a SIN against high school football lol. But congrats MC y’all Did that PS the crowds for the likes of MC MNW AND CC is no joke y’all don’t F OFF lol 

Terrible interception led to the Spartans scoring first on a short field but after that it was all panthers Dillard moves to 3-2

Big win for Hawks! Come close every year to beating Cocoa, last year double OT at their place. Finally get over the hump !! Congratulations to the kids.

I thought this was a great trick play. I loved it when I saw it last weekend, but I think the kid back there would have to have a set because if if the other team doesn't buy it there's a pretty solid chance the PR gets killed. 
 
Or, with the way football is becoming, it would be a penalty on the kicking team for hitting a "defenseless" player and the returning team would get an extra 15 yds tacked on to the end of the play. 

Pahokee's JV football team has won both of their games 22-0 and 30-0....
To put some context on this..Pahokee is a Middle/Senior school with about 450 students in total. So the JV team is filled with 7th, 8th, and 9th graders (mostly middle schoolers). The QB is an 8th grader with 5 tds passes in 2 games, and the top 2 WRs are 7th graders with 6 tds (rushing/receiving) so far. There may be 10 (9th/10th graders) on the roster of about 30. The OL/DL are also middle schoolers.
