Quiz-Only Two Coaches Have Ever Done This

Only two coaches in the history of the FHSAA (to my knowledge) have ever taken three different teams to a state final.  Both reached the milestone after 2000.

Who are they, and what teams did each lead to a state final appearance(s)?

Nice tag team, guys.  It is Mark Guandolo.  Coach Guandolo is one of only a few coaches who took the same team, Chaminade-Madonna, to the state semi's or beyond 6 seasons in a row.  In three of those seasons they reached the title game, winning two of them.  He led Miami Southridge to the 6A final in 1999, where they lost to Lincoln.  He also took them to the 6A semifinal in 1997, where they lost to eventual state champion Carol City.  In 2012, Coach Guandolo led Cypress Bay in Broward County to the 2012 6A title game, where they lost a heartbreaker to Apopka.  In 2010, he led them to the 6A semifinal, where they lost a heartbreaker to eventual state champion Miami Central.  

So, in 16 years...10 state semifinals, 5 state finals, and 2 titles, all with with 3 different teams.  How many coaches can say that!

Billy Rolle- Killisn, Northwestern, Southridge

It is Billy Rolle, whose coaching career spans over 30 years.  Good job Bocefous!

Northwestern- 1998 6A state title with win over Bradenton Southeast

Killian-  2004 6A title with win over Edgewater and lost the 2003 6A semi in a heartbreaker to eventual state champ Carol City

Southridge- 2016 8A title with win over Dr Phillips

The Coral Gables High School graduate accepted a scholarship to pursue his collegiate career at FAMU, where he graduated in 1984 with a B.S. in Physical Education. He went on to play in the United States Football League (USFL) and for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
