Madison though is playing 4 dimensional chess while the rest of us are playing checkers. The use of the charter school to siphon enough students away to lower their population numbers is darn near criminal in my opinion. If Madison played in the classification that their numbers are this wouldn't be an issue. As for Pahokee, they are who we thought they are. They couldn't even beat Hawthorne last year.
Imagine if every school could do this. Take every kid who could care so little about sports, band, cheerleading and put them in their own school and your population numbers is only kids who want to play sports, cheer, dance, do band, or just come to games. All of a sudden, we might get very different classifications.

And they probably stay in 1A to avoid the Chaminades and U Schools which is understandable, but they should be playing publics their own size. So if they have 550 and their charter has 250 they should be in 4A. Period.

Last weekend Baker got 2" of rain from Saturday night til Monday morning. Their field is in a pit (holds water) and has been in use all season - sand is used to fill divots when field conditions require it for the safety of the players. Unless you have eyewitness proof or photographic documentation of the field being fed water, I'm calling your assertion sour grapes. Football gets played in all conditions - are you saying that PSJ can only win when conditions are ideal? Well, all I can say is the conditions were equally bad for both teams, and PSJ lost by three touchdowns.

Lol I love the excuses. You were down 41-14 at half. Field gave up 41?

Couldn't be more wrong?
You wanna put money on the idea that NO publics in FL recruit? Because I'm sure anyone on here can back up the fact that there are publics who recruit as well
You think every private is like STA
I don't see Aucilla Christian snatching 20 d1 prospects from surrounding publics

Gadsden will be without their head coach this evening - Coach Striplin had a heart attack this morning and is recovering from an emergency triple bypass.

s1nglewing reacted to gatorman-uf in IMG needs to play better teams
Quite honestly, I wish no Florida school would play them. Why play a team of ringers? For the complaining that these types of boards do about why certain teams are able to keep their success, I will never understand why then turnaround and want to see a team that does it blatantly play your local school.
Honestly, make IMG pay and travel across the country to play games. My fear is that IMG (and other institutions like it) are the future of football. School sports are often the glue that keeps schools, kids, communities together and IMG will be the machine that rips it apart.

s1nglewing got a reaction from Sharkbait in Florida Classification Discussion & an Idea
When you have schools with an enrollment of 167 (Graceville) facing, weekly, teams with enrollments of 1000 that's just dangerous to the point of being nonsensical.

Seems like among the smaller schools, that the folks in Defuniak think they're gonna be pretty strong.

s1nglewing got a reaction from Hwy17 in 3 Articles about FHSAA Proposed Playoff System
Maxpreps is a ridiculous, easy, cheap, and very poor choice.
Selecting teams based on the previous season's performance is likewise loaded with potential for very bad match-ups. Teams often have flash-in-the-pan seasons that are followed up by mediocrity at best. For example, Choctawhatchee in 2014 made final four in football and posted an 11-3 record, the previous season they went 9-4 and made the elite eight. Had they been put in a superclass based on those two seasons, they would likely have gone winless, or close to winless, the next two seasons if made to play teams like Armwood, Apopka, STA, etc.

It should be noted that of Windermere's seven points, four were scored by the defense.

s1nglewing got a reaction from peezy28 in Apopka single wing clips
Some of the single wing philosophy's strengths are that opposing coaches often underestimate its' complexity, thinking that because the offense was first developed in the early 1900's that it is simple. Another is that opposing coaching staffs have usually only three days to attempt to replicate in practice, with scout team players no less, the single wing... and really it just can't be done - so their defense will get it's first real look on the game field. They're playing catch-up from the outset of the game.
