That's not true exactly.  Coach Thomas was there the last 3 years before the politics of the area convinced him to leave and his 3 year record was 0-10, 3-7, and 7-3 with the 3 losses by a total of 11 points.  The program was going in the right direction under him. But they changed principals and they allowed the figures who have destroyed that program for years to take control and now they are back to a dumpster fire.  It really sucks for the kids because they gave there all under Thomas.  All I can say is very very stupid people in the community down there might as well shut down program going independent wont help.

That is going to hurt y'all going forward if your rivals aren't holding up their end up the competition bargain... Sometimes you have to drop a rival if they cant keep up.

It means the class of kids the graduated was only worse than 7 of the colleges incoming recruiting classes

PBC has added a lot of talent in the last few weeks.  I would not be surprised if they added a few more transfers in the coming weeks.

Still under 19/9 rule, but you are allowed 8 semesters of high school participation.  In other words you have to fail BEFORE high school to still play the full 8 semesters

There are a LOT of public school transfers.  I am a teacher, so I know they just took finals.

Public school coaches all around the state of Florida -- not just South Florida -- should for sure be getting paid more. 

Not a transfer by itself, but it's certainly newsworthy since it will lead to numerous upcoming transfers. John Davis is returning to Clearwater Central Catholic as the offensive coordinator. Anybody who knows anything about Tampa Bay football knows that the transfers will be coming now that the announcement has been made.

 

Glades Central. They fired a coach that lost consecutive finals (to Cocoa). Most school would celebrate that, but it's seen as a failure to that community. Their fans blame the coach when the talent level is down (Last 2 seasons) or when they don't advance to the finals (Lost to Miami Booker T. Washington the last couple of years). It's state championship (WIN) or bust, and you better not lose to Pahokee, in 3 years or you're outta there...

Yeah, it is an 8A school. How many transfers do you really think Southridge had this year?  If South Florida is "stacking" so many "all-star" teams than how the hell can their be so many "stacked all-star" teams???? 
 
A stacked all star team is the best of the best for that area. Period.  Define otherwise.
 
Explain to me how Miami Central, Carol City, and Northwestern all in the same general area are all "stacking" teams when they are very equal on talent.  If you made a "stacked all-star team " from that District you have no idea what you would be dealing with.
 
In Broward last year, How the hell can you have 4 "stacked all-star " teams in a 15 mile radius.  Go ahead and explain that one please?
 
 
You lost me on the "letting in transfers in while keeping your student body count down"  Are you saying that generally or are you applying that statement with Southridge?
 
Southridge is an 8A school but technically is very low end 7A school.  Southridge has 1992 students and 7A enrollment is classified as 1,939 - 2,331.  That said , I don't think Southridge is trying to keep enrollment numbers down.  They are actually playing UP.

All those teams have less than a zero percent chance of competing for a state title in any class they get into

The stories coming out about this game are nothing short of tear worthy and passion.  I didn't see it from the live stream; however, apparently after the 3rd OT and the teams knew they were going to be in it for the long haul- the teams started helping each other stretch when they cramped. When a player went down, the other team picked him up and dropped him off with the athletic trainers. When a player fell down, the other team helped him up.  I also just read that the MCC fans after cheering for their team after the win, made a tunnel of respect and clapped and cheered CCC on as they got back on the bus. The MCC fans were hugging and giving high 5's to the CCC players and coaching staff.

As a mother of 2, if my boy played his last ever football game- that would be such an amazing way to go out. I can't overstate the kudos between both programs. Hard not to root for MCC next week. Both programs just picked up a ton of fans state and nation wide.



 

I heard something about in the pregame warmups the Dwyer players were running/cutting through and around the STA players warming up in a harassing manner.  Bad move Dwyer.  
 
 I also heard Dwyer had 30 or 40 yards of TOTAL Offense in the game.  Dwyer was destroyed in the game on the field.  That's for sure.

We'll see how it pans out. If it happened after the game, it is hard to imagine how/ why STA would "pick a fight" after the shallacking they just have Dwyer...
 
I smell sore losers or a team that got embarrassed on the field as possible instigators...
